Because they were cleaning stuff with petrol -or something- to repaint it, I refused to do my deadlifts and stayed upstairs to get my swings in. Pretty surprised with myself:

Guys are finding me increasingly more frequently to help them with strength stuff. I like it! I have 5 guys that want or get help, and a sixth that is recovering right now.
Sadly, club organization is still slacking on everything I ask.
And looking around in my room, I wonder why I resist housekeeping so much.

No, I'm at a school that's not affiliated with undergrad, so they don't require any teaching.
This is cool, although I know I want to stay in research primarily, I need to find a way to get some experience teaching...should be easy enough as an (unpaid) assistant or TA. But salary is already low for research, and lots of hours. School is currently a very safe "bubble" for me. I dread getting out in the real world.

A little bit of both, depending on how the university's sports centre will handle that. As the organization (again..) isn't very eager to get things done, it's hard to get ANYTHING arranged. We'll see. I can test them, re-assess, and help them with programming, but we'll have to see what I can do in the gym, you know?

Did 5x4 80kg squats today, way easier than expected. Kept bench light, as I came straight out of work and was low on food. 4x4 55 kgs. Technique was okay, but it sure has been a while!

WEnt in today and didn't have the opportunity to train the past five days, so I did squats.
90kgs, 2/2/3/3/3// a little anxious on descent. It's been a loooooooooooooooooong time.
Pull Ups, 2x5 with 5kgs, easy!

Squats, evening, after a days work: 90kgs, 5x3, VERY happy about form and ease.
Then, pull ups 2x5 + 5kgs, while coaching a guy I know on deadlifts.
I wanted to do overhead presses (single arm, db) but when I did two sets already, B. persuaded me to do dips. Apparently, I have my own style of doing them (half moon curve) and they made fun about it to the point where I couldn't do them anymore because I was laughing so hard. The weather. It's been freezing during the night the past week, which means that the field(s) will be too hard to play. Which means either the ref or the organizing club declares the field unplayable, and the match is rescheduled. We've had SO many matches rescheduled since the third weekend of January.. This is not good for the already wonky morale in the first team.

Instead of doing heavy squats today, I joined rugby kid in his workout for non/game weeks: warm up, 40 complexes of KB cleans, squats, pushpresses, alternating hands (so sneaking in a little KB swing as well), then windmills 5 in each direction, 2 sets of pull ups. He finished 40 reps with 16kgs in 12 minutes. I took longer, as I was catching my breath between sets and struggling with the right hand side rack position (meh). Fun workout though!!
Another sigh for the organization of the club. I asked if they could add me to the mailinglist because they didn't inform em about this weekend's cancellation. No, they can't because I'm not a member, and the mailform is generated via the website that lists members (well... make me a member!). And I refuse to become a member. The hips are great! I had insoles made, and my fibula manipulated, and it's better than its been during the past six months! That being said, I do have some soreness in my left medial glute. :S Dunno if it's from the low high heels Ï was wearing, from the cinema seats, or just getting used to the soles.
Been busting out deep squats, etc since I've improved so much. Now, it's just a matter of getting the workouts in, and staying mobile.
Yeah, it was fun. Hard as well.. If I can, I want to keep that workout in. I'm going in with another rugby boy tomorrow for deadlifts.Last edited by Euqinom; 02-26-2013 at 12:10 AM.
