Easy strength 25/40
Squats felt great, but I had no sleep and way too little food, so on my second set I felt a small pang, reminding me I should be fresh and healthy when I walk in. I terminated the set.
Pull Ups felt easy peasy, but OHP were hard, for the first time in weeks.
Instructor was ill so couldn't get my hands on any KB's (probably for the best) adn did a little ab work.

I'm so frikking bummed.. That pang yesterday stiffened up at night, and I've been feeling it all day. Squats kept low, at 40kgs (sigh..) but: stretching hammies helped immensely, plus, thorough stretching made my lowerbody warm up. Pull Ups were okay, Overhead presses felt VERY hard, and I couldn't do KB swings.. This is not what I like. At all.

Intense stretching (multiple times a day of hamstrings (three way stretch) and hip flexors) alleviates my hip. Will go in for a quick lift today! And tonight: Wagner's opera Das Rheingold. Four hours. No idea what I'm in for..

REad on Eric Cressey that tight internal rotators/limited int. rotation can be solved by improving trunk stability. I noticed that since I'm doing the 1-arm planks I did get better at int. rotation, and now ext. rotation needs s ome love.

YAY! Another sortaworkout.
Since my old issue is gone, my hip 's complaining about it's new work. I realized I dropped TGUs and with that, all my rotational work / 1 legged work was gone. Did that today, and it felt wholesome.
New warming up: internal and external rotation mobs for hips, one leg bridges (clenching knee to chest) wall slides.

OMG. Just returned from the hospital. One of the guys came up to me with a sore shoulder, and reached me his left hand to introduce himself. I thought it was funny. He fell. At first I thought it was just acute stiffness, but then we wanted to check for discolouration/bruising, and he couldn't take off his sweater. I gently pulled his leg and tested his arm lowering. I also noticed his arm was a little longer than the other. Spent the rest of the evening in the emergency room. Sweet guy, thoroughly appreciated me going with him. No dislocation or fracture, but intense pain, so might be an RC tear.
I also sent out my findings during the first week of Rugby club.
35% are injured
Wingers/Backs are the most fragile and suffer the most fractures to lower leg/foot / resonsible for over 50% injury-weeks.
Props/Hookers don't show up and don't get injured much. Which is entirely correlated.
2nd row is starting to fall apart from the 12th week.
Ankle distortions/sprains are most prevalent
Couple of nasty shoulder injuries that linger throughout the season.
Club wants to invest in taping
Tough guy attitude is definitely NOT working.
First guy I talked to when i started there is taking smart step towards healing.
Opera was a great experience! Awesome setting, was not blown away, but thoroughly enjoyed going with my dear friend and being in that atmosphere watching amazing vocal performances. )))

SUPERSTOKED! About today's workout!
I warmed up differently: I realized I hadn't done single leg work in ages, nor rotational work so i did:
90/90 mobilizations, hip internal rotations, side plank leg raises (much harder than anticipated) and bowlersquat + 10 TGUs and wall slides.
Workout was great:
Zercher Squat 50kgs
Pull Ups Meh.
Dips 5/5
KB Swings, 24kgs 20 reps

Overhead Presses 14kg 5/5 (due to dip stiffness)
KB Snatches 12kgs 12/12, easy peasy
1-arm alternating planks.

Mainly via one legged work (single leg squat to 60 degrees, FMS trunk stability push up, and hip bridges. Also, Poliquin's Klatt test gives some insight about this as well.. I also check position of the scapula. Winging or raised scapula also hamper shoulder stability). Example: one of the guys had serious mobility differences in his ankles, AND no hip stability in the leg on the side of the stiffer ankle. Guess what his complaint was?

I'm doing BW windmills in my warm up (both sides and to the front), and I think I need to work my hammies more directly.

TGU Night was good, Did a lot of catching up with gymbuddies, and had a good time. Still can do my 20kgs TGU, but I definitely notice a strength asymmetry in my abs. Left is weaker, harder to fire, I'll straighten that out over the coming weeks.
