    Bodyweight Exercises

Lately I've been just wanting to do cardio. Could I get away with doing body weight exercises for 2-3 weeks or would I lose my strength gains from the last few months? (My thought is that all the extra weight on my body will still give me enough challenge during body weight exercises.)

The last couple of sessions, I did push ups, squats, tricep dips, and something I don't know the name for, but it's like a semi pull up...I held on to a Smith machine bar and kept my legs forward and feet on the ground (I'm nowhere near ready to lift my entire body, lol). Are these exercises enough for the next few weeks? After that, I'm hoping to get the cardio craze outta me and focus again on lifting weights.
    Mind strong, body strong.

your bodyweight can be an AMAZING tool! Especially if you play with elevations (plyo pushups, bulgarian split squats, incline crunches, dips with your feet on a yoga ball, etc). As long as you still feel challenged by your workout, there is no reason you couldn't do bodyweight exercises

I tried the website, but it's down right now. Went on YouTube and found some bodyrock vids, but am afraid to watch because of the boobage seen just from the first screen shot. (My kids are playing in the room.) It's not one of those new porn-style workouts, is it?

You wont lose that much strength, i did pretty much all cardio in Jan/Feb, then sprained an ankle in march and went back to lifting. I have all of my strength from before. No worries, if you have alot of muscle mass, it wont go anywhere if you keep up with bodyweight exercises

    Wink

I LOVE the bodyrock.tv workouts. I am actually trying p90x right now but am going back to bodyrock after I complete the 90 days. The workouts are short but can be pretty intense. You don't need any extra equipment. She uses a pull up bar and dip station but shows you how to adapt if you don't have these.

As far as the boobage, she always has them hanging out. Damn if I looked like her, I would too!

And FYI, they are rebuilding the site. It has become so popular that it crashes now Best of luck to you!

Bodyweight exercises can be very effective and challenging. I incorporate them into my routines, and they provide great variety. You won't lose strength if you continue to challenge yourself.
