    Losing Fat while smoking marijuana

So I have been following a pretty good diet over the past few months with one exception.

Whenever I smoke weed, I get horrible munchies.. I have tried not eating, or only eating small amounts, but that hardly ever works.

So far one solution I have found is to get some food that isn't too unhealthy and takes a while to eat. I usually get a couple packs of sunflower seeds, and a bag of beef jerky. These are somewhat low in calories and fat, even if I eat the whole bag.

Now I know most of you will reply with.. stop smoking weed, but as of right now I don't want to give that up yet.

So, are there any other foods that I can eat large quantities of when I have the munchies. The best kind are the ones I can get from a gas station.

    Thanks!

well..if you're not willing to give it up..then whats the point of trying to diet? if this is just going to screw you up every time?

but i guess..if i had to give some advice other than..just cut out the weed..i'd say..just eat smaller amounts throughout the day..so that way when you do smoke..then even when you eat..it wont be as bad

Well, I haven't actually been gaining weight from it. I just think it might be slowing me down. Most of the days I smoke I'm usually under 1000 calories before I smoke. It just doesn't feel good to wake up and see that you have eaten a whole bag of chips that are slowing down fat loss.

I searched for "munchies" after posting this, and got a couple more ideas. Seems like vegetables might be a good way to go..

i lost 15 pounds during my first cut, smoking weed almost every night

you just have to get in the habit of not eating anything when you blaze. its hard the first few times, but then you get used to it

the funny thing is, i soon realized eating was the best part of smoking weed, so i pretty much stopped smoking all together..

    i digress

    try to stop eating.

Smoked from age 16-21 and never got the munchies so I cant help you there.

What I can say is plan ahead. If you know you going to smoke and know you get the munchies either eat before hand and understand your not "really" hungry or work those calories your going to eat into your daily allowance.

It's all about replacing the unhealthy stuff with decent alternatives. Low fat, low carb jerky can be filling, while giving you the protein you need anyway. Also, I tend to eat sugar free jello, Pepsi One, fat free cottage cheese, and even pickles.

I think surrounding yourself with good food is a good idea in this case. If you know someone that is religious about their nutrition, I would smoke with them.

I had a roommate my sophomore year of college that was heavy into bodybuilding and eating right, and we became the best of friends. He loved to smoke weed, so what we would do was surround ourselves with good nutritious good before we smoke. Occasionally, one of us would have less-than-ideal food laying around when we smoked, and when one of us discovered it and tried to eat it the other would "spot" him, take the food away and throw it out our dorm window so there was no chance we would get to it. That was some funny **** when we were high, and I still laugh at it till this day.
There is no such thing as an over-achiever. There are only those that achieve.

honestly best idea, eat a full meal before you smoke. if you arent hungry at all when you smoke you have a better chance of not getting the munchies I have found. also avoid smoking late at night that kills me with the munchies.

I would suggest just smoking during the day, like someone else said, when you smoke at night your more than likely stationary, and being high, plus being bored=disastrous eating. Like a bottomless pit actually, well thats what i experiance anyways.

I went through my smoking phase a couple years ago. I used to get crazy munchies and down an entire box of chips a'hoy.

I reccomend eating 0% greek yogurt. Put in a few packets of splenda becuase its nasty by itself. Its high protein and filling. Get your fats from the sunflower seeds like you are. Carbs from oatmeal, again with splenda. Oatmeal is also very filling. hope this helps!

but ya, just do some white instead. You'll have increased energy and strength all while having no problem maintaining your caloric deficit ( :

So far one solution I have found is to get some food that isn't too unhealthy and takes a while to eat. I usually get a couple packs of sunflower seeds, and a bag of beef jerky. These are somewhat low in calories and fat, even if I eat the whole bag.

Now I know most of you will reply with.. stop smoking weed, but as of right now I don't want to give that up yet.

So, are there any other foods that I can eat large quantities of when I have the munchies. The best kind are the ones I can get from a gas station.

    Thanks!
cellary and watermelon lol. both are negative calorie foods so while they will fill you up, your body actually burns calories digesting them

    WRONG!!!!

The common misconception is that celery contains "negative calories". All foods contain calories. The way you must look at it is how many calories does one stalk of celery contain, versus how many calories it takes to digest it. According to the nutrition data website one 8 inch celery stalk contain about 6 calories. Many people believe you actually burn that off when chewing. Though celery does take a rather conscious effort to chew, chewing burns about the same amount as watching the grass grow. The calorie loss is going to be during the digestion of the celery.

Celery is actually loaded with latent energy, but the plant's composition only allows us to metabolize a small amount. The latent energy is packed tightly in the form of cellulose; a complex sugar which humans are unable to metabolize. It's not that the celery is difficult to digest, but rather it provides fewer calories than what is needed to digest it - so the overall effect is "negative calories".

Keep in mind, the amount of calories you lose is very minimal. This is not the miracle diet food. The amount of calories lost will probably be no more than 10-12 calories a day. The good thing is celery can quickly satiate your hunger, preventing you from eating other high-calorie foods.

This. its called self control. If you can't control your urges to munch out how can you stay motivated long term to do anything? Just eat healthy and dont eat as much. with munchies it is far too easy to be full and continue eating until bloat. realize you can be full without feeling like you might pop lol. smoke one for me brah.

your an idiot! there is no such thing as negative calories. celery still has calories and it doesnt burn those calories right away its through out the day. if your counting calories you dont put -12 for celery you still add how many calories you took in.

I would suggest that everytime you get stoned and binge go out and Moon a cop. You should burn the excess calories during the foot chase! If you are unfortunate, and lose the foot chase, the TV dinner three times a day will definitley create a calorie deficit, not to mention, most of the nicer jails have a decent weight lifting program!

That being said, I agree that the OP should probably just start tearing into healthy foods like fruits and veggies. Some of that stuff totally rules when you're high anyways!
