    4 Protein Shakes in a day too much!?!

    Just yesterday, I realized I drank 4 whey protein shakes in 1 day. Today, I feel like a fat ass! I'm wondering if it was the shakes that caused this or what.
    My first shake was 1 scoop of protein, 8 oz of milk, and some oats (hr before my actual breakfast).
    My second & fourth shake were just 1 scoop of protein and 8 oz of milk.
    And my third shake was my post workout shake, which contained 1 scoop of protein, a banana, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, and 2 tablespoons of chocolate fat-free frozen yogurt (tastes delicious!)

    Was that too much for one day, or is that fine? I'm currently bulking, if this helps.

    BTW, 1 scoop of my protein powder is 26g of protein (4g carb, and 2g fat at 150 cal)

    if you need that many, its fine. but youre better off getting whole foods if you can. i dont see it making much of an impact though.

    If it fits your macros, that's fine, but you should know that protein from whole food sources is always more desirable than supplementation.

    yeah, i try to get as much protein from actual food as i can, but realized after using fitday that I need to bump my protein intake a bit.
    Thanks guys for answering. I was just kinda curious cuz my friend said it was too much, so I just wanted to find out.

    4 scoops is ~100g of protein, and if youre bulking im assuming youre eating upwards of 300g? i typically eat around 200-250g a day and get about 90-100g from whey and casein, maybe more if i have to skip a meal.

    I went through the same "Fat ass" feeling for about two weeks. I started mixing my protein shakes (I take about three a day) with a fiber supplement and now I feel good and empty and I'm still packing on muscle. Maybe thats something you can try out? Good luck..

    I can easily get 150-180 grams of protein through shakes on my busy days and the rest in like 3 solid whole food meals. Some shakes are blended with oats and pb though........just eat and don't worry if you're trying to bulk. And yea at 170, 250 or 300 grams would be an adequate protein intake for gaining.

    At the end of the day if im short on protein I eat a can of tuna(or 2) 100 cals and 20 grams of protein per can.

    I'm a little worried though.. Even though I'm trying to bulk, I'm trying to hold myself back a little bit so I don't get too fat. Once I'm done bulking though (pry 3-4 weeks), I'm probably gonna cut so I can lose some of my fat for summer time.

    Quick question, if I did bout 10-15 min of cardio 3 days a week in the morning before I ate any food, would that affect my gains?

    4 scoops per day is pretty basic, at least for me. Just make sure that you had whole foods as well.

    Nowadays, powders taste so f-ing good that you want more.
