    Talking Feeling sick after workout...

    Hi all,

You know you have gone hard when it takes a while to recover... that is exactly how I am feeling today - erghh..... nautious, headache...off with the fairies...

shock to the body - I had to move my PT session to this morning and what a difference it makes... doing lots of olympic lifts, deadlifts, clean/press with kettle bells and the bar... the only thing letting me down was my wrists... they need to get stronger.. soon. The veins were nearly popping I tell you... they were pumped... kind of exciting.

How do you cope after a big workout and feeling the effects on your body? I have eaten well so far, drank protein shake, oats, water.... had great pre workout protein/carbs....

If I go several months without lifting and hit it too hard right away I get same thing. Dizzy/ nauseous/etc. Try drinking a mountain dew or something before hand. If this high intensity workout is new to you, gradually go into it over a span of 7-10 days. Give your body time to adjust.
Took almost a year off, just started to get back into it in December.

    Current: weight= 175, bench = 275x6, squat = 275x5, deadlift = 275x10

After doing a heavy workout, I like to spend a good amount of time cooling down, drinking water and eating the proper foods. Overall, just take it easy.

My old PT used to tell me that you shouldn't go from doing a heavy workout to just sitting immediately, because the blood can "pool" in your body which will make you light headed. I have NO idea if that was true...sounds kinda wacky, but I know some people do suffer from dizziness post-workout.
    Hard work = Hard body.
