where is the line drawn that determined a cop should be fired??? police get away with police brutality all the time its just the dumb ones who do it in public that get in trouble... do cops just get jaded from their jobs that their sense of whats right and wrong gets blurry?? its hard to believe that bad cops started out bad...
discuss...

When they blatantly disregard the law, especially the ones they are entrusted with upholding.
Don't complain about the results you didn't get from the work you didn't do.

When should anyone be fired? When they do something that their superiors determine to be a worthy of firing.
I don't really understand the question.

Its so nice to see people share such positive ideas about cops. Ask this family that question......In 2000 when I responded to a house where the father was on the floor blue as the border on this page.......and I gave him 4 abdominal thrusts (also known as the Heimlich maneuver), and saved his life because EMS still had an ETA of 5 mins (They got there later than that BTW).
There are bad apples in every profession, COPS, teachers, firefighters, bankers, quit worrying about everyone else and take care of your own life. You cant control the actions of anyone...only your own.If you train hard, you'll not only be hard, you'll be hard to beat!

Well...
How would you feel about being paid just enough to afford the cost of living in most places and having to put up with *******s kicking you and threatening your life for 8, 12, or 16 hours a day? Walk in thier shoes brother.
Depending on where you work being PD is a rough job.. for sure.. when youre out walkin the beat everyday and everyone hates you just because you have a stigma that everyone already hates you just because you enforce the laws that the public has deemed necessary? I mean most people do 30 in a 25, 45 in a 40, and 55 in a 50... So why complain about the ticket you recieve as a result of breaking the law?
You have corrupt *******s in every job and every walk of life. From drug dealers who kill other dealers to make better sales to dentists who put silver caps on thier pediatric patients who have baby teeth that will fall out just beacuse the kid is on medicare so they can make a couple quick bucks..
Anyone whos been a firefighter/emt or cop would know that 99% of the times you see "police brutality" the people deserve it. I've had plenty of people try to hurt me.. and I'm just there to save thier life.. so anything a PD does to them as a result.. I really dont care.

hey, everyone has a good day.seriously though, if you are a good cop then congrats.
In all my years, and having been on both sides of the law I am fully aware of the differences between how the law is written and how it is executed. 90% of a 'case' is determined by the responding officer's report; which is made by his descision, thoughts, emotions and pre-judgements... basically he is the judge and jury on site. I'm not going to get into an pissing match about it. I'll just clarify by saying that 9 out of 10 cops either lie, manipulate, or steal, on one level or another, at one time or another, and for whatever motive (good or bad).
And that is not Just.
Edit: I also forgot to add my 'favorite' tactic that 99% of cops employ. Instead of writing up one citation for the law they actually broke, they will write up 5 or 10 different ones that they know are bogus, knowing full well that the defendent will have to hire a lawyer, and go to court. At which time (now faced with all these charges) he will be offered a plea bargain. His choices are to fight the charges in court (more time wasted and more lawyer fees) or take a plea bargin and be done with it.
It's a fuking game played by the cops, DA's, lawyers and Judges.

really thats understandable, but it still doesnt make it right, or ACCEPTABLE... imo there are only a small% of people who has what it takes to be a cop and not become jaded... integrity is what makes being a cop possible, without that ur just another guy on the street saying this or saying that with a gun and a badge... nobody forced someone to become a cop, they did it because they wanted to... if they realized that being a cop wasnt what they wanted then they couldve gotten into a new line of work, but for whatever reason they chose to remain a police officer, so really there is no excuse for a protector of the law to break the law themselves... whats the difference between civilians going 5-10mph over the speed limit versus a cop slightly abuses his power???

i dont need to.. cops are human too.. if i dangle a cool 5 million in front a cop good or bad, and i tell them if they do some inside work for me and help me rough up some people or to protect certain interests of mine, lmao i bet a majority would say hell yes... especially if i told them i could do it without anyone ever finding out...

I love all of this speculation about police officers, until some of you people have a real perspective on law enforcement, I suggest you stop being foolish.
