Yes the headache is due to vasodilation in the head and blood pressure loss. Things that help if the headache is bothersome:
-Wait a bit. The body adapts to nitrates after a few days and these symptoms subside
-Lower the dose
-Use some caffeine
On the good part the headaches mean that the supplement indeed works(vasodilation/blood pressure drop). All supplements that actually DO something(i.e. alter body's biochemical processes in a noticable way) have side effects of some sort(stims cause tachycardia, thyroidals cause lethargy, androgens cause testicular shrinkage e.t.c.)
