    Abs/obliques: once a week
    Core: 3 times a week.

Don't get confused between ab workouts and core training. Abs contribute very minimally to your core.

Is that article saying to workout your abs 4/week ?

Theres 2 workouts on there and both say do them 2 times a week, so not sure if its telling me to do both workouts twice a week, or to pick one of the workouts and do it twice a week.

depends on wht level u at?
    assuming ur at begginer level
    1-2 times is enough
but make sure you concentrate on ur large muscles like back and legs
    their core is heavily involved
    "SATISFACTION" is the ultimate goal

I'd say every other day. Treat them like any other muscle group and try to increase resistance. Many people think they can get a six pack from just training abs endlessly, but you want to make them larger and stronger with strength training and burn the fat off them with cardio. When your body burns fat from an exercise, it takes fat from all over the body, not just the spot you are training. "Spot reduction" (the idea that you burn fat off the part of the body you are working) is a myth.

I work each muscle twice in 7 days, That goes for abs/core too...and dont forget you are also using yr core in exercises like deadlifts and squats...so to hit em more than twice a week is overkill imo.

So when I work abs, I totally blast them. I do them twice a week, for 45 min. I asked a friend and he said that was wayy to much ab work at once. I do 4 variations with 4 sets on lower and upper abs, then 3 variations for obliques... I find that is the only way I get sore, is by working the **** out of them. If you guys could PM, as I have the hardest time finding my posts :P My friend said I should be doing them almost every day, for 15min
    thanks guys!

Great article. Thanks. I didn't think the abs were that complex with the 4 parts. I could get the top 4 abs but the bottom 2 would only show if I squeezed very hard. I'm gonna definitely try to follow that article. It makes perfect sense. Wow! Abs in the beginning. 4 exercises... I'm doing it tomorrow.

Once a week for me and all I really ever do is a few sets of leg raises. They seem to stay fuller getting at least some direct work each week, that is the only reason I do them though.

I printed out the workout schedule in that article. I did 30 minute cardio on the elliptical and then I did the abs. I did all 4 ab parts. I like all the exercises especially hanging leg raises but I don't feel it with the side bends. Am I suppose to feel a burn with side bends? I did the exact form in the video. And in the workout schedule, I did side bends twice. Don't know if it was a typo but I did them.

Felt great... Much better than my half ass ab workouts after the end of my regular workouts. Notice that it makes my chest look better. Looks like the cardio took a little fat off and the abs are pumped... Making my lower chest look better.

This question goes to anybody... Should I eat before and/or after I workout the cardio with abs? Want to lose little fat around abs but gain muscle.

Many bodybuilders have programs that involve working muscle groups every other day. I know the different muscles have different recovery times, but that was not the point of my post anyways and generally most muscles DO recover within 48 hours and especially a smaller muscle like the rectus abdominus does. The point of my post was stating that you want the muscles to become larger and not trained small.

btw Arnold Schwarzenegger worked muscles every other day

The next day after doing this article workout, I woke up and my abs had a good sore to them. I never felt that before with my other ab workouts. My obliques (around the ribs) which I never worked out before were sore and is already starting to pop out. Work the 4 parts of the abs because it really does make a difference. I wish I did this workout before.

btw Arnold Schwarzenegger worked muscles every other day
imagine where he could have been if he had given some more rest

I usually do 3 times a week on days where im already hitting my core (squat/deadlift days). 2 hard, 1 light. Sometimes all 3 hard if I feel like it.
