Anybody watch this show last night? Let's get one thread going to discuss. I think all fans of Lost would like this show too.

The first episode was a little unrealistic but still really good. I could understand the traffic accidents and people falling down stairs, etc. But I couldn't get all those huge fires in the buildings that erupted in those two minutes.

And unless the planes were in the middle of a landing, they wouldn't just crash with no pilot input for 2 minutes 17 seconds. On-board computers prevent that sort of thing.

From what I've seen of the previews, if you flash forward 6 months does that mean you can see your gains/progress in 6 months?

Maybe, but from the flash forwards they they showed, probably not. It depends on what you were doing at the time I guess.

Yeah, it looks pretty interesting. Especially how they all see part of the future, but some of their visions are conflicting. It seems a bit sloppy in the acting here and there, but I don't think that's too un common in the first episode of a series.
I agree though, if it really happened, I don't think it would be quite so catastrophic.
Looking forward to seeing the next one though.

I just watched in on DVR - it was pretty good - I don't normally watch any series TV but I set it to record after a trailer I saw earlier.

so we will spend the season getting to APR 29th?

I will watch a few more before I decide..the guy walking at the end was a good hook

Thought it was pretty good considering it is on ABC. ABC definately rolls the dice with the scifi to reality stuff.

As for planes dropping from the sky, pilot passes out, lands on controls, plane either goes straight down or banks hard and drops (depending on how pilot lands on the controls). Also, not aware of exactly how flying a commercial plane works.

Wondering why Harold was not sharing his vision with anyone. Probably something to do with White Castle.

My dad watched this show. That means the show will be cancelled. Because 9/10 shows he watches from the beginning get cancelled.

Case in point: Journeyman, Life on Mars, Kings, My Own Worst Enemy, The Riches, etc.

I thought it was decent but nothing I would sit down to watch week after week

The show has potential. It didn't have the wow factor I was expecting except for the end when it showed the guy walking out of the baseball stadium. That was definitely a creepy/"oh ****" moment. Looking forward to getting into the story.

If autopilot is engaged it takes a lot of manipulation of the controls on a commercial jet to alter the plane's course. I know on longer flights the pilots take off under control of the aircraft, engages autopilot for the duration of the flight, the disengages AP and re-assumes control to land. Most Autopilot systems are fully capable of landing themselves if the need arises.

Definitely agree with you. I liked the show but it was a little too over the top. But the guy in the baseball stadium was definitely the highlight of the show.

And what's up with the kangaroo? Is that supposed to be like Lost's polar bear?

Watched it last night, it was good. Yah wtf is with kangaroo? Then again maybe it escaped from a zoo in LA? I see a number of LOSTies are starring in this(Actress who played Penny Widmore, "Charlie" Dominic Monaghan will be in it next week) DID anyone else see the OCEANIC AIRLINES billboard in one scene?

I found that kind of odd too. The only thing I can figure is that either there is a zoo nearby or some teleporting went on during the worldwide black out. Maybe aliens, secret government project, etc.

Lost posed more questions than it answered. I never did figure out why there was ancient polar bear remains in Egypt with a Dharma initiative collar around it's neck.

Liked the first two episodes, thought last night's was meh. If this is now 2 months after the flash forward, why are all the buildings still smouldering, and why were there still crashed planes all over the place at the airport?

And now I'm not sure what the Flash Forwards mean; if it's a vision of your future, I'm curious why the agents wife sees Demetri after that woman tells him he's murdered in March 2010.

Still gonna ride this one out, though. I like the show's concept.

Yes, totally agree! The planes in a heap were just dumb. If that truly happened those planes would be cleaned up in 3 days.

And I forget is name but the main fbi agent guy; he seems to be a bad actor. All of his mannerisms are over the top.

And the show focuses too much on that one FBI office. If this is really a global phenomenon, why is a group of a few dozen (or less) agents doing so much here? Meh...

From other stuff I've read I think a lot of people have come to the same consensus. I'm going to give it a few more episodes before I give it up though. Right now it definitely has potential and it's like a train-wreck I can't stop looking at.

The acting is a bit subpar, some of the jokes are corny as hell, and there's a few obvious loopholes, but I still think it's worth watching due to a cool premise.
