Killswitch engage is a mix of hardcore and metal. They sound more like At The Gates than they sound like Hatebreed. You might not want anything to do with it, but whether or not you consider it true or pure metal, it has something to do with metal whether you like it or not, and is certainly not pure hardcore.
Oh, btw, this has happened in previous incarnations... you know thrash metal was a fusion of metal and hardcore punk, yeah?

All ____core genres generally suck balls.
You take a great genre of music, dress it up like a whore to make it "radio-friendly" and then sell it that garbage to the masses.(__Y__) Misc Buck Breaker (__Y__)

this is for everyone who thinks parkway drive can only play breakdowns and such.
IMO the beginning of this song would take a lot of skill to play.
as much as love metal and all its 1000 subgenres.
i still think that the most alpha is hardcore.
now i know a lot of you will say that it is just pusies flailing their arms, but how many of you can honestly say that you would go into a circle of swinging fists? i think its one of the best rushes ever. i like it better than conventional moshing. but hey to each his own right
and in the defense of metal being more alpha than rap, how can a wall of death not be more alpha than anything in rap.
and also, i dont know how any subgenre in metal can be considered trendy. to the general public it's all the same. almost all of my friends consider anything with any sort of screaming, "screamo," which of course it isnt.Last edited by BYUpride; 03-24-2010 at 04:47 PM.

It was only impressive at about 30 seconds in when he was sweeping. The tremolo picking and tapping sounded great, but technically, it's somewhat simple. (To me anyway)
Edit: And the divebomb because I don't know how to do that haha. There's something about picking and using the whammy bar that fuks me up.Last edited by guitarwar241; 03-24-2010 at 06:05 PM.
