Anyone want to take a guess at how many calories Pho has?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ph%E1%BB%9F

For those in a hurry Pho is a Vietnamese dish that consists of Rice noodles, beef, broth, and various vegetables. I've been looking online and some people are estimating a bowl of Pho to be upwards of 2000 calories!!!!! That can't be right can it? The beef broth only has some many calories and we all know about veggies. I mean isn't it just like eating a plate of spaghetti and meat? I don't have the exact measurements for the sizes of regular and large bowls but I would assume a large to have no more than a 1000 calories.

Anyone want to take a gander?

    thanks

2000 seems high, a large bowl should be between 700-1000 imo.
Kinda hard to estimate, since the soup has a lot of fat in it, and depending on the amount of noodles and meat. I usually have a minimal amount of soup/noodle and a larger quantity of meat.

Well I can only guess by the Pho place i go to.
I have a medium bowl so

Noodles: 300 ( white rice, think sugar)
    beef: 250 (very lean)
    broth: 150
veg: 100 at most i would guess 50

So a medium Pho I know would be around 800 give or take a hundred. I wouldn't be suprised if it was 200 cal more but not 2000

Well rice noodles and meat are not high in calories and im right in saying nothing here is processed so there is no chance in hell thats 2000 cals per serving. Looks like a fairly healthy meal to me.

So order it with steamed veggies instead of noodles. It's good that way too.
