Depends on your level of strength. If your a beginner then reverse crunches and leg raises would be good. If your a little bit more advance, with intermediate strength, then you could do some hanging leg/knee raises.

if your REALLY confidant in your strength you could try Dragon Flags. There a move Bruce Lee came up with. I just started them myself actually!

The abs are only one singular slab of muscle, even though you think you may have 6 different ab muscles as you have a 6 pack its actually all still just one muscle but they are all seperated by tendinous intersections. This is what reates the "6 pack" because it is only one slab of muscle what ever ab exercise you perform the whole slab of ab (6 pack) contracts as a whole. So what ever exercise you do your upper/middle/lower abs all contract as one, its impossible to only work your lower abs or only work your upper abs.

But depending on the choice of exercise you perform, you can infact EMPHASIZE either the upper/lower abs. So even through the "abs" is only one muscle it is not always activated equally.

A study done at the University of Valencia in Spain compared the average EMG activity of the upper and lower abs during a curl-up and posterior pelvic tilt exercise. They found that it is true that the stomach crunch or curl does elicit greater rectus abdominus activity in the upper abs while doing posterior pelvic tilt exercises hits the lower abs better

So for the upper abs, curl-ups or crunches are best and for the lower abs, posterior pelvic tilt exercises are the best.

So any type of posterior pelvic exercise will help develope the lower abs.

He wouldn't want to do that. Plagiarizing is far more fun and it makes him look brilliant.

OP, just do reverse crunches and leg lifts. They target the lower abs intensely.. Keep it simple and sweet without all the long winded explanations from the tweener crowd.
