Gaspari Size-On During Work-out = insulinemic peak = more harm than good ?

Hi mates. I would like to share my doubt:

I'm taking Size-on from Gaspari. they say to take during work-out or right after work-out. As I take my protein shake with glucose right after work-out I decided to take Size-on during it.

The thing is that Size-on has carbs - probably fast ones - and I know that giving insulinemic boost when working out is not the best thing you can do. And after work-out giving another one (with the protein shake) shouldn't be also ok.

    Do you agree with me?

If so, the best way to take creatine+sugar products should be after work-out, wait 10 minutes and they drink the protein shake without simple carbs?

    Thanks!

Yeah, why not skip the carbs with your protein if you feel you get enough with the sizeon and is ok with taking it after your workout.

When I first started taking sizeon 3 years ago, I use to take it everyday asdid everybody back then. When I went to the doctor for a check up, my resting blood sugar was 73. Before that it was 88. Sizeon helped lower my blood sugar.

taking insulin before a workout and having no carbs, or not enough, is very bad. drinking carbs to force an insulin spike doesn't do the same thing.

You don't think working out in itself may have helped? Did you have bloodwork done prior to compare? Just asking.

This ^. Working out had more to do with lowering your resting blood sugar then SizeOn did. Not saying it didn't contribute at all but.....

    The big question is:

Doesn't it make more harm than good to create insuline spikes and crashes during Work-Out? I've read somewhere else that it wasn't good! Better "save" those spike for Post-Workout Shake.

Muscle contractions from exercise cause something called non-insulin mediated glucose uptake, which causes the glucose transporters to move from the inside of the cell to the cell wall thereby allowing nutrients in. Usually insulin would do this, but exercise does it without needing insulin, which typically gets blunted somewhat from exercise anyway. So during exercise simple sugars probably don't cause the same rise in insulin that they would in the non-exercising state.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't palatinose (the primary carb) actually a low-GI sugar? Almost like the inverse of malto?

By this logic, if I look at all the 150lb guys in the supplement section using steroids, I should use steroids to lose weight?

I'm nitpicking, but I think you mean cell membrane. Mammals (or any other sort of animal) do not have cell walls.

Palatinose has a GI of 32 which is awesome. I will admit, SizeOnv2 MP is starting to grow on me.... Orange Cooler flavor is VERY good when mixed with the proper amount of cold water.

Carbs during the workout can only benefit you.

Remember with Size On you are sipping on the carbs slowly over the course of your workout, you are not slamming it all at once.
