Lets say i work out on Day X, a particular muscle group, How long does it take for that muscle group to grow to its fullest potential based on the workout you have just stimulated it to grow.
I know it depends on your diet as well, lets say you are eating more calories and protein doing all the right things.
How long do you think? I know it takes 2-3 days to recover but when does it stop growing after it has been worked. lets say you are endomorphic, not a hard gainer

when your muscles are repairing themselves that is when they are growing more fibres to over compensate for the damage you did to them. Idealy muscles need atleast 48hrs to be worked again but that doesn't mean they are 100% repaired, the answer to that is as you said it, depends in your diet and how much rest they are getting could be anywhere between 2-4days could be more
