    Need some advise

    Hi all

I please need some advise on the benefits of stability ball work.

    My question is:
" What populations would benefit from the use of incorporating stability ball training? and are there certain individuals who should not use a stability ball?"

Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Regards
    Kyriakos

    stabilty ball work

personally i am not a fan, if you think about it we are usually on sable ground when we are doing daily activities. unstable lifting on a stable floor works just as well. if you are trying to incorperate more of your stabillity muscles try doing more single arm alternaiting work. again this is just my opinion

The elderly/fraile could benefit the most from the use of stability ball training since that population is typically at risk for slips, trips, falls, etc..so strengthening their core and making exercises more proprioceptive can decrease the potential of such risks. At the same time, there are ways you can develop their core with little to no equipment.

But to answer your question, I believe anybody can benefit from the use of it - children, athletes, among others - as for who shouldn't use a stability ball, I'm not too sure....off the top of my head, I can't name any special group of people who should absolutely refrain from using a stability ball in any way/shape/form because it would be detrimental to their fitness.
I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying.
I'm not out there sweating for three hours every day just to find out what it feels like to sweat.

everyone can benefit from stability training, but as far as STABILITY BALL training i would steer clear of using it for pregnant women. there are other stability work that can be done but its not a good risk to benefit ratio. and as far as elderly it would be best to work up to the stability ball work. (of coarse it depends and varies on the client!)

*edit* -this seems like a test question now that i think about it...
