When you're checking the total carb of product is it true that you subtract the sugar alcohol also from the carb total. IE if the nutritional info saids carb total is 20 but the fiber is 1 and the sugar alcohol is 1, the real carb total is 18?

If you are worried about keto then for most people sugar alcohol will knock them out of ketosis(it did for me back when i was doing that). I say most people becuase some people claim it doesn't. /shrug. They may just want an excuse to eat those sugar free candies.
Additionally too much sugar alcohol makes me fart and **** like crazy.Fat Loss for Newbs guide: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=113693871

Sugar alcohols like sorbitol and maltilol are not readily absorbed in the gut like sugar is. fiber as well. So when looking for the amount of absorbable carbohydrates in a particular food, use the total carb and subtract the fiber (also not absorbed) and the sugar alcohol. careful with too much sugar free stuff--it can give you diarrhea if you overdo it, and some people are more sensitive than others.
