Bah!
Bill's GF stayed in town and she had to take him back to the hospital last night (he comes home on weekends now), so she came over afterwards. Guess she didn't want to be alone in his house all evening and I can't blame her. We were just getting ready to go up to bed. Gym bags packed for the morning and everything.
So we stayed up late gabbing with her so I set the alarms for 6 this morning instead of 4:30. No workout.
I trained 6 days last week and I am sore as heck, so I'm actually OK with the extra day of rest.

Thanks everyone.
To be honest I was in total shock from the compliment. He's a real ballbuster. Other than complimenting my bacon cooking skills I don't think he's ever said anything nice about me before!Insta: flexjs

Lookin beastly Jimbo. As Bill said, dropping the some BF is the easy part. Looks like your handling the hard part quite nicely.

Bigger, badder, stronger. All from rest. Of course, you prolly don't need help with the badder part.

Legs
Shoulder wouldn't let me get under the bar with a narrow grip again today, and my lower back felt a little weird, so I went easy on the squats.
Made up for that with some leg extensions, which I haven't done in forever, and pushed myself a bit on the leg curls, which i hate.
Squats
Bar x whatever
135 x 10
225 x 6
275 x 3
275 x 3
315 x 3
315 x 3
345 x 1
365 x 1
315 x 5
Leg Extensions
135 x 12
180 x 10
180 x 10
180 x 10
180 x 10
180 x 10
Single leg:
75 x 10
Prone Leg Curls
170 x 8
170 x 8
170 x 8
170 x 8
170 x 8
That's it.
First thereapy session on my shoulder tomorrow morning.

Delts, Traps, Calves
Bit of a different Wednesday workout this week.
Doc said last week doing lateral work is pretty much pointless right now, since my shoulder is not functioning properly, so I just did one press and rear delts, and added in calves since I didn't do them yesterday. Lots of voume on the presses and they felt good today, decent volume on calves and shrugs too.
Hammer Strength Iso Press

Unloaded x 15
25 x 12
45 x 10
55 x 10
60 x 10

70 x 6
75 x 6
80 x 4 <-- this was pushign things a bit too much, so I backed off....
70 x 10
55 x 15
Smith Machine Shrugs
(single arm standing perpendicular to bar)
Plate weight only:
50 x 12
50 x 12
70 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10

^^^ excellent ROM on these

140 x 10
140 x 10
140 x 10
140 x 8
140 x 8
140 x 8

145 x 12
145 x 12

Went to the chiro/sports doc after my workout. Therapy session was very short and consisted of vibration thereapy, stretching, a back adjustment, more stretching. He said he there was immediate improvement in my ROM and he believes I will respond well.

I'm glad the chiro sports doc is helping you out. I need to find me a good one to figure out what's going on with my lower back.

Good leg session. Maybe front squats are a good alternative. I myself can't do regular squats because I can't get the bar behind my head.
I'd eat a French goat turd if I thought it'd make me bigger.
Pardon the mess; body under reconstruction.

Thanks guys.
The stretches did NOT feel good, and the vibration therapy was nuts. Shoulder feels OK now.
I had a noticeable increase in strength immediately after he was done, which is why he thinks I will respond well. Not sure how long it will last between sessions. He said twice a week to start, then once a week. And I told him I want real exercises for rehab that I can do in the gym. Not these BS type of 'tie this rubber tube to a doorhandle in your house and pull on it' crap.
Thanks. Friday it's back to leg press and next Tuesday I am thinking Smith Machine squats.Insta: flexjs

When I was in PT earlier this year my therapist started off with that sh*t and I had to "recalibrate" him. I had no idea what that guy was thinking - putting me on rubber band internal rotations when I had been doing the same on cables for years. Some of those people just go through their procedures like good little soldiers without taking an honest look at the client's ability and history. Sounds like you got a good one though.

I do, and I don't think it was necessary, but I laid down the law on the rehab exercises this morning.
I said "I have the self-discipline to get up at 4:30am every morning and go to the gym, so if you give me real exercises to do on real equipment I will do them. If you tell me to tie a rubber band around a doorknob and pull on it for 10-15 minutes every night after work it's just not gonna happen, because that's what I got from the last clinic.
He just smiled and said "They're not used to patients like you and what you're capable of."
I'm sure I'm in good hands.Insta: flexjs
