Hi Angelicdevil, your stats/age are very similar to mine so thought I'd let you know what works for me.
My weight tends to stand at about 130 -134lbs eating about 2000cals with heavy lifting and minimal cardio for muscle gain. I cut it down to about 1500cals and step up my cardio, this strips me down to about 122 - 125lbs.
Hope this helps a little.

It is the difference between weight and volume, which are two different things.
Think of it this way, what weighs more, 1 pound of feathers, or 1 pound of lead?
Neither, they both weigh one pound, but the feathers will take up a lot more room. It is the same with fat and muscle. Two people who both weigh 140lbs can be different sizes if one has a body fat % of 30%, and the other 20%. Since 1 pound of muscle takes up less room than 1 pound of fat, the person with more muscle and less fat will have smaller measurements.
The reason you are told that is because when you gain muscle and lose fat your weight on the scale may increase, but your measurements will be shrinking. People who don't understand about muscle and fat will panic, thinking they are gaining weight, when in reality they are actually getting healthier.

Good luck with the kettle bell training, I did "boot camp classes" for about 3 months and it was amazing, and we used loads of kettle bells.
Tip:- I bought a weight training belt as I was constantly getting terrible mid back ache, the belt helped loads, as you swing a lot with kettle bells and my back just wasn't ready for it.
Hope you get to your goal soon x
