Hi guys,
During the week after school i generally workout around 4-5pm. I find that during the week I don't have the same energy or power that I do on say a Saturday morning workout. On weekdays my weight will usually drop by a small, but still significant amount.
My question is, if im still working out as hard as I can, ie. im using less weight as my bodies unable to cope with it, but still working out to the same physical level and exhaustion, am I still stimulating the same amount of muscle growth?
Cheers

I might give some suggestion, during the school year I have wrestling season and straight after that I go into rugby season on top of these I do bodybuilding so i have had times where i suffered extreme fatigue I'd come home and just pass out until it was time to go back to school the next day, + i'd have severe headaches. I suggest that rest and diet is your best bet. during the school week workout maybe 3 possibly even 4 days (if you really have to) and make one day a "heavy weight" day. Make sure you take a day or so off to rest and recover or else you're body will start to deteriorate. Sleep wise try to be in bed by 9:00 or 10:00 the latest I know it sounds dumb "uncool" but your body needs 8 hours of sleep especially if you're trying to stay active. Get up early and make breakfast, make your lunch if your in school also pack a few healthy snacks so you can eat something every 2 or so hours to give your body energy, hydrate yourself a lot so keep a water bottle with you. On the weekends you can go heavy because as you said your usually fine those days but ALWAYS take a few days of recovery every week your body needs rest this will allow you to keep a substantial amount of muscle growth.
Bodybuilding requires strength of the mind just as much
as it requires strength of the body. When that heavy
weight is pushing down on you, your mind has to be strong
enough to tell your body to push back.

it may help that you have a routine. in school you are more active/mentally active talking,holding the rep as being the big guy in school ETC, then just sitting at home waiting until time to pass by for your workout time to come around so on saturday when you wake up do something active or somthing to hype you up music,boxing bag,football with buddies ETC. this can also be mental as seeing saturday and sundays are suppose to be days off because you have no school your brain may tell your mind/body the same thing so your workout may not be as strong or good.

Thanks for the response guys,
I'm coming up to holidays soon where I'm gunna take a good shot at diet and schedules and carry that into school.
Still just wondering though;
My question is, if im still working out as hard as I can, ie. im using less weight as my bodies unable to cope with it, but still working out to the same physical level and exhaustion, am I still stimulating the same amount of muscle growth?
cheers,
