    Unhappy 3 month workout plan?

I'm a 20 year old male. I'm about 5'10" and weigh roughly 175. I've been going to the gym every single day since about December 10th 2009....so about 3 months. I started out weighing about 205 so I've definitely made progress. Now my reason for posting this thread....I'm still not where I want to be, as far as my BMI, my goal has been to be fit by beach season, so I'm wondering what tips the pros have to offer me for a good way to crack down over the next 3 months. As of now I've been doing the elliptical every day for 30 mins and 2 mins cool down on intermediate level 10 of 20, it's not the hardest thing but it definitely gets my heart going. I also add weights into the equation a few times a week. But like I said I need to crack down over these next 3 months so I'm comfortable in my swim suit this summer! (need to get rid of what's left of my man boobs lol) Any tips for diet, workouts, supplements, or anything would be appreciated! Thanks!

Nothing wrong with 5'10" and 175 pounds.

    BMI is crap.

You could probalby stand to gain some muscle. And, yes, that means gain weight. But if you don't have any appreciable muscle and you diet (its all about DIET, not the eliptical, to lose weight) down even further you'll probably be just plain skinny

Thanks for the quick reply, I know what you're saying, maybe I didn't say it right. Basically the first 90 days were about losing the initial weight. Now the next 90 are about cracking down and gaining muscle. I'm content with 175, the last thing I want to be is skinny, but I just don't know how to gain the muscle in 90 days. I basically just want to tone up because I am probably average but I have slight man boobs and a beer belly (I quit drinking completely at the beginning of my workout, and soda as well). Any additional advice? Thanks.

Read the stickies in this section. Pay particular attentoin to the one with routines, and especially to Starting Strength as well as the other novice routines.

Pick one of them and do it. You can make more progress than you might think in 3 months as a rank novice

Will do. I appreciate the advice! I'm also looking into a personal trainer but I don't know if it's worth the extra money when I can just do it myself. I just have problems with form sometimes. But I'll check out the stickies and give some of the routines a try. Thanks again.

What kind of diet would you recommend? I take an ADHD medication called concerta that makes me not have much of an appetite. So it's a bit of a challenge to eat many small meals a day which is what i read online. Any advice?

For an update I did a fat percentage machine today at my health club and it said I have 16% body fat. I also worked with a personal trainer and did a very intense 2 hour workout.

    What kind of personal trainer?

Many/most of the PTs in gyms and fitness centers are not what you are looking for.
