I've looked online, as well as going to many health food stores. And every weight gainer I see has either Crystalline Fructose (contains arsenic), Sucralose (trade name Splenda) or Aspartame which are all artificial sweeteners that are definitely not good for you at all.
Has anyone been able to find any decent weight gaining supplements that don't contain these ingredients? I was looking at MAMMOTH and MUSCLE JUICE 2544 which are made by interACTIVE and Ultimate Nutrition, and they both contain crystalline fructose.
As the name suggests, supplements are meant to "supplement" your current diet plan. I'm not relying solely on a weight gainer to give me an extra intake of calories or boost my mass, I'm just curious if anyone out there has been noticing the same trends as I am with most of the weight gainers out there.

I think you need to re-look into fructose... you seem to not understand what it is.
But you could always buy Whey Protein Isolate from NOW (no flavoring at all) and then buy some Maltodextrin (the main caloric ingredient in most weight gainers) and then flavor it however you'd like. Such as wiith cocoa and sugar, strawberry syrup, vanilla syrup, whatever.Latest Reviews:

Fructose has to be directly digested by the liver. That's what I'm worried about. And over time it can add problems and fatty tissues around the liver. I know it assists the body in storing fat but why not just use regular sucrose (table sugar) instead of using crystalline fructose that has metallic minerals in it?

Come on man. You can find warnings about anything on the Internet.
Have you actually read about the chlorine in sucralose to understand it at all? Or did you just write it off because you read a few things a while back and got scared cause of the word chlorine?
And have you looked into Stevia at all?Latest Reviews:

Sucralose and aspartame are not really alike at all. Both are artificial sweeteners, but that's where the similarities end. Sucralose seems to be extremely safe. There will always be nay-sayers about everything.
But if you want to avoid sucralose regardless then just add maltodextrin to your current protein shake. That's all most gainers do anyhow.Latest Reviews:

sorry to revive a old thread, but I felt it was required to complete a potential internet information source and people do not seem to know what there talking about and could confuse people so I will fill in the gaps
Artificial sweetener sucralose (955)
The alleged symptoms associated with sucralose are gastrointestinal problems (bloating, gas, diarrhea, nausea), skin irritations (rash, hives, redness, itching, swelling), wheezing, cough, runny nose, chest pains, palpitations, anxiety, anger, moods swings, depression, and itchy eyes.
"Sucralose was actually discovered while trying to create a new insecticide. It may have started out as sugar, but the final product is anything but sugar. According to the book Sweet Deception, sucralose is made when sugar is treated with trityl chloride, acetic anhydride, hydrogen chlorine, thionyl chloride, and methanol in the presence of dimethylformamide, 4-methylmorpholine, toluene, methyl isobutyl ketone, acetic acid, benzyltriethlyammonium chloride, and sodium methoxide, making it unlike anything found in nature"
the reason why such toxic things are being regarded as safe for use by regulatory agencies is because of regulative capture. regulative capture is a very real process when the industries being regulated gain control of there regulators, through infiltration methods, bribes and death threats. also known as the revolving door, where people that have previously held very powerful positions in said corporation only to quit and instantly or very soon after be put into power in a powerful regulatory position to negatively influence said regulators. I have studied corporate crime for many years and I can easily show you the revolving door in action if you so wish? capture also happens in government (political capture)
edit: actually one of my favorite historical captures, one that extinguished many lives in the process was the tobacco industries capture of regulative agencies and Governments world wide. ask your self why the product is still on the shelf today and this is a good example of how much power the industry still has on regulative and government even after all this time. so powerfuL! its fascinating!
How do we win this war against dangerous corporations? it is consumption that gives them there power, if people stop consuming there products then there power weakens over time. consuming products that has sustainable and safe practices will promote sustainable and safe practices planet wide as long as the consuming practice is consistent enough to weaken said corporations/companies.Last edited by Ailfawka; 10-09-2012 at 04:57 PM.
