First off, there is only ONE batch of Solution 5 vanilla, so it isn't a bad batch. Try it again. It could have just been something that you ingested prior. Bad batches don't exist here. Our QC is too stringent.
Second, you will NOT overtrain if you actually listen to Derek, eat all of your meals, and stop stressing. Then you will be fine.
And yes, that is a stern lecture.www.scivation.com

Studies do show that an explosive lift recruits and stresses more fibers, but one being for growth and one for staying lean is brolore and BS. Your "PL" buddies are starting ti sound like mal-informed, pompous assclowns.
Muscle grows from overload and the principles laid out in our Tri-Phase program.
And yes, I think you're overtrained.www.scivation.com

How often do you de-load? Most people thrive on a de-load period every 4-5 weeks where they decrease volume, intensity or some factor of training. Some just do cardio for a week or so.
Why are you training to failure all the time? To me this is counterproductive at your stage. You should be focusing on adding weight to the bar and ignore what anyone says to you at your gym, because you are working with a damn good trainer who knows his ****.
I am sure ( actually Positive) he is directing you in the right path, just as hard as it is to turn off your brain, sometimes you have to. You just have to do what works for you and your recovery, do not look at more trained individuals are doing like Marc, Rob, Derek etc. They have built their recovery abilities over years of training and can handle it.
Like Marc said your Powerlifting friend sounds like he is just tossing out a bunch Of BS atm. For where you are now, you should just lift the weight and practice good form, when you become more advanced you can worry about the speed of the movement.
Good luck

I placed my pre-order purchase for Quake + Vanilla Solution 5 all the way back in Feb. 27th to be exact. I really wish they would of shipped the Sol 5 since there was a mess up with Quake 10.0. Thank God for the Choc i have left. And on a side note i wasn't thrilled on the taste of the new flavor. It tasted and smelled no joke like plato. Very odd but i drank it down none the less. I figure i can always mix in a scoop of choco and that will make up for it. The nutritional value is too good to pass up just because i'm not thrilled with the taste.
Now if only my order would arrive!!!! I'm dying to take 2 scoops of Quake and hit some legs!!Last edited by JP83; 03-15-2010 at 02:38 PM.

Good I'm not crazy. Still Scivation Vanilla whey tastes like the best thing on the planet.
For some reason I always feel soooooo sleepy after I eat Solution 5.
Since D is busy I am having to make up a new split for chest/shoulders/tris. Could I find that in one of the Scivation books?KARMA; reps for life:
matthor-derickonfire-ozfiz-xquick-meyer23-AllGenetix, Beast, Scivation, Lando33
girl81-2 D-spot skater-djaeger3-in10city-Emma-Leigh-bballbrett5, jaim91, imfusio
Not on the list? Don't worry! There's still plenty of chances to achieve good karma.

You don't need a book for a workout. Decide what bodypart your gonna do prior to going to the gym; when you arrive, pound the hell out of it. Done deal. If your lacking motivation at the gym,or, simply feeling sluggish, maybe a week of "wing'n" it could be mentally beneficial.
