lol, that's like saying, you should only do squats and deadlifts to work your abs.
Sure, chin ups will hit the biceps too, but like I said in that PM, it's not a great biceps builder. When I was new to lifting, I heard a lot of people on here say the same thing about chins and heavy rows. So I went ahead and tried chins, which did nothing for my biceps. Curls really made them grow.
It's simple - if you want to grow a muscle, hit it hard and that's what curls do. I wouldn't tell a newbie to do chins for biceps, unless he's on a programme like Rippetoes.
Also, I get what you're saying about using chins to hit the biceps; limiting the RoM, so the biceps are emphasized more.

Yeah thats what im saying,
can be manipulated at least you know what im getting at lol, and for you fair enough not seeing results, its not for everyone and obviously not for you which is the beauty of bodybuilding there are different exercises for different people!
regardless for me i have been seeing gains unparrelled for years and i believe i have struck gold with these.. I personally would recommend these for beginners and anyone because of the uniqueness of these. But hey man each to there own.~~~~~~~~~~

Want big biceps? Train your freaking biceps through direct work.
Deadlifts ain't gonna do crap.

everyone is being retarted. the only reason i asked if deadlifts make your arms bigger is cuz i've heard time and time again that deadlifts are the king of all exercises. they build mass everywhere, people tell me. same i hear about squats. i know you don't directly work your biceps by doing deadlifts. i'm not retarted. i asked because i wanted to know if it is true that squats and deadlifts actually boost your testosterone level because they are large muscle groups. thus theoretically building mass on the rest of your body.
i just started going the gym 6 days a week a few months ago and i've gotten some good gains but i'm looking to get over the plateau i'm at now. so chill out with the dickhead comments about 1 star or whatever. just give me some advice and quit proving the meathead = douchebag stereotype.

I don't see what all the argument is about. Deadlifts will not build biceps directly, but the growth hormone and testosterone production from them may be conducive to better gains if the biceps are being worked through other exercises and, most importantly, if diet is in check.
Chinups and pullups, without question, work the biceps. Anytime the angle between your forearm and upper arm decreases, you are using your biceps. Whether or not someone gets a good biceps workout from it is another question, seeing as someone with strong biceps and a weak back would be having issues with their back long before his or her biceps give out.
