How often should you train abs, calves & forearms?

It is an old school philosophy, maybe, but it is something Arnold recommended many years ago in one of his books.
Are these like all other muscles and require sufficient rest periods to grow?

I train calves after legs and forearms after biceps. So for me usually 2x per week for calves and forearms. I have'nt done abs for quite awhile,so hopefully someone else will advise on that.

I am lucky with my calves so I don't train them direct

Abs - every session I am either squatting, deadlifting, ab rollering or doing haning leg raises - so 3 times a week.

Forearms get a battering from heavy curls, skulls and rows - no need for direct work IMO

IMO train them as often as you'd train any other muscle.
For me that is once a week.
Calf and forearm development seems to be genetic more than any other muscles.
I don't directly train forearms, and train Abs and calves once a week.
