Flat bench has been giving my shoulder problems from the start. I get a sharp pain in my shoulders everytime i do this exercise. But i have no pain or discomfort whatsoever when doing incline and decline. Incline and decline also hit my chest a lot better than flat bench does.
Would i lose any benefits taking flat outta my routine?

you try doing smith machine on flat bench?
try and see if it still hurts, if it does, then just try and do SOME kind of flat press. like hammer strength press or flat flyes.
because if you only do incline and decline you will eventually notice your middle pecs will be lagging."Hard work dosent go unseen, unless hard work isnt present"

if u have tried flat bench every possibly way..meaning using DB's, regular BB and smith machine..and it still hurts while doing all of those..then yes take it out and stick to incline, DB flies.. and IMO if ur shoulder can handle..do dips over decline
taking out flat bench will not cause any harm..u will develop a solid chest doing exactly what i wrote...

you sir, are a moron.
I do not care what anyone on these forums says, without a flat barbell bench press you really are limiting your chest.
It is the single best exercise for chest, ever.
try doing shoulder dislocations (google it) These help with any pain I get with doing bench. Your grip is probably too wide if you have shoulder issuesNJ Crew

[QUOTE=TheBroBrah;460756281]trust me i have, I've tried all variations, grip, elbows tucked, shoulders retracted, arched back etc... Still hurts my shoulders.
Anything flat hurts my shoulder. And LOL at middle pecs lagging, I don't think that's possible.
it wont be lagging, but will look not right compared to the mass youll have on your upper chest.
but w.e lol"Hard work dosent go unseen, unless hard work isnt present"

machines arent bad period, let alone hammer strength.
machines just arent good to do for compound movements becuase they are on a fixed motion so you dont have to stabalize the weight therfore, not building stabalizer muscles.
but you CAN gain mass using machines, you just have to have a combo of everything (machines, cables and free weight)"Hard work dosent go unseen, unless hard work isnt present"
