I liked the movie but feel it lacked emotion where it could have made an impact... the last scene of the movie was pretty awesome but yeh overall it was really good... just not a "saving private ryan"

i actually really liked the movie. District 9 was my favorite of the year, Hurt Locker was next.

i could see it winning for patriotic purposes, but i really don't think that was why. it was proof that you don't need a huge budget to make a great movie.

yea it was a decent movie but best picture? best director? you just have to laugh at these dumb sentimental americans

This was a good movie, and not because the US was in a war.

I have seen some crappy movies about war and this one was pretty damn good. I think it was far better than Avatar...

I called this movie as movie of the year when I saw the screening for it(srs)

lol @ hurt locker, the film was terrible......

neg me all you like, jarhead was MUCH better then this and it didnt get as much hype just because there were no decent movies out this year.

to summarise why it was bad, you dont try to make a movie around the iraq war of the lives of average bomb disposal units and making the film INACCURATE. It makes zero sense to me, and to anyone who says it is accurate of an average soldiers life in iraq, ask any vet on this site and they will also tell you the film is a joke......

hurt locker did nothing better then past iraq war films period.

avatar has done nothing new other then combine the elements it showed.

The Oscar for the best pic should have went to The Hurt Locker

the only bad thing about the hurt locker was that the woman who directed hurt locker couldnt give a speech worth a crap, repeated herself 50 times, and looked like something was up her bum the entire time she was accepting oscars

she should get to a kitchen asap now that she has an oscar to scramble eggs with
