I play both, and there are just as many socially awkward play 12 hours a day COD/FPS players as there are WoW players. Just wondering why WoW has the stigma but COD is more of a "lol sup BROSKI" game?

Poor logic, thats why. Somehow spending 12 hours a day killing people in a repetitive ass environment is higher socially than spending 12 hours raiding/pvping.

Well, for the most part, the average COD player maybe spends a few hours a day or less playing. The average WoW player plays for over 12 hours straight. I've known kids who stay in each weekend to play for 18 hours plus at a time.

The same reason it's 'cool' to watch Football - but nerdy to watch StarTrek, even though both are just watching TV.
WoW is a fantasy based RPG game. It's off in some magical world where you can be an Elf and cast magic. The game requires virtually no skill to play, your success is just how long you play/your level/your gear.
COD is a FPS. It's realistic and you run around and shoot at stuff. No fruity imagination crap required. It's also skill based; meaning everyone starts on an even playing field. You get better by actually playing better; not logging more hours.
I'd also imagine that the average time spent in game is a lot higher for WOW players than COD. On average. So that helps the stereotype.

There are seriously some hot chicks who play WoW. Including Jackie from that 70s show. And a porn star who is legendary famous on Malganis and in a top raiding guild. She went to Blizzcon dressed as slutty elf even. My old guild was a top guild on our server, we put in lots of raiding hours, we had 2 extremely hot chicks.
