Red face Debating doing a competition next year...dumb question.

I'm in southern California, any suggestions for a good first competition? I just want to do bikini, not ready for a figure, obviously. I've got a lot of work to do on myself so I probably wouldn't be ready until 2011, so not looking for anything this year unless it's towards the very end.

Anyway, I don't know if any competition is "better" or "worse" for someone just starting, just figured if anyone knows it would be you guys! Thanks!

Is there a particular federation you are aiming for? Fitness America has a bikini division and shows in Cali, NPC also has bikini. These are the only 2 federations that I'm familiar with & have been to their shows but I am sure there are a few more out there with bikini divisions. For those getting their start, a local show is the way to go.

Have you thought of attending a local show & checking out the competitors, that way you can see both bikini and figure gals?

    fitnessuniverse.com -go to schedule
npcnewsonline.com -go to schedule, then scroll down to bikini events

If you are really wanting to compete, I'd check out Cathy Savage Fitness. She offers a great coaching system that handles everything from day to day diet, pre contest diet, training, cardio, suit selection, posing, tele seminars . etc... Everything can be done via email and our team has Savage Girls all over the country. Most likely there will be another Savage Girl competing at any show you choose to do...it's like an instant family. The girls are great, we support each other even if we just met.

Personally, I've competed both with and without Cathy and the CSF team...I would NEVER compete without the CSF ladies again.

Just google Cathy Savage Fitness for a website or feel free to contact me directly :-)

    Happy competing!
