Someone says its for making ur torso look like triangle(something like that,i dont remember what he say),someone says that if u lift heavy and dont wear belt u will get "hernia" or something,etc..im confused..:S..sorry for noob questions..

Supposedly they're used to stabilize your torso during heavy compound lifts, making lifting heavier 'safer'. A lot of skepticism as to whether or not they're actually useful
