    keto and alcohol

I'm doing keto diet for 2 weeks now and I'm just curious on the 3rd day of your keto diet if you drink any alcohol rhum, whisky,or vodka shots or on the rocks does your body stop from being in the state of ketosis.. I mean since they are not carb based calories.

Yes, it kicks you out of ketosis while the body processes the alcohol. Additonally, you will get drunker much quicker and if you get a hangover, it will be worse.

Once the alcohol is processed, you will return to ketosis.

the calories are probably correct but the macro breakdown is incorrect, there are carbs in jager.

    Yea, some ideas:

    Save drinking for carb up.

    or

Alternate 1 drink then 1 water.
    Drinking slower also helps.

Alcohol is basically a carb. You body will burn the alcohol as a carb, before sugars or anything else. It will use only the alcohol in your body as energy, until you stop consuming it.

Would it be better to drink beer on carb up since it has alot of carbs (but also alot more calories than hard liquor) or just keep eating regularly and drink a hard liquor with less calories.

Edit: I would also assume that the carbs in beer are no quality carbs

If you're going to drink, drink what you want (within reason of course margaritas might not be the best idea, etc) but be conscious of calories.

yeah well I would have assumed drinkin beer wouldn't be as good as drinkin a hard liquor when you're in ketosis/trying to get back into ketosis

Yes, but you said during carb up. As far as kicking you out of ketosis, depends on the beer and quantity...as well as the individual. I've personally never had a problem with beer, but then again I don't stress about ketosis either.

Yeah I mean beer during a non-carb up day, and yeah I'm not too worried about it either I just want to maximize fat loss while still being able to go out and have fun and experience college life lol
