Or he could just buy some Krazy Glue, and buy spikes and glue them onto the bottom of a pair of his old nike or new balance shoes. Just remember to wait 10 minutes before using to allow proper drying.

I miss metal spikes. Always felt secure on the side hill lie in the morning on wet grass. With these "soft" spikes it's hit or miss.

i agree, i have had my left foot slip out on me too many times. Usually its when I wear my FootJoys. I find the higher end shoes seem to slip less or not at all. Which is why I'm a big fan of the Adipure's.
Do the tour pro's still wear metal? (except for Fred Couples and Ernie Els who wear Skechers or whatever metrosexual looking shoe they wear, no hate on the metro's just sayin.)

I have limited options (13.5-14 size foot) but I came across these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ECCO-Crossfi...#ht_500wt_1156
Seems like a good deal, but I've looked around for reviews and I can't really find any and they seem to be discontinued. Thoughts?

Ha, I was actually planning on doing that, but I gave a bunch of clothes and shoes to Goodwill and I forgot I put a pair Nikes in the bag. Only other sports shoe I have is a pair of Zigtechs and I use those for the gym.

I scratch golfer can maybe make the team at a lower level D1 uni, but if you want to play and be competitive on a decent or good team you need to be a +2 or better.

anyone here play/try the mizuno mp 53s? I know the MP line is geared to highly skilled players, but i was reading some reviews and apparently the 53s offer some level of forgiveness, just wondering how they would compare to a straight up blade or game improvement iron

All MP lines have forgiveness honestly, except the 33. The 58's are amazing and the second best iron I have used from them. The 32's were the greatest IMO.

Sweet. I've never done any competitions before, so I don't know how I'll fare. If I advance through locals then I'll probably get a new 48" driver. Right now my swing speed is in the 135-140 mph range, but I've ordered something called the ultimate swing trainer, which lots of pros have apparently been using recently. Anyways if I can get to 145 mph then I ought to be pretty competitive.
Got any tips/exercises/drills I can use to get faster? I have a VERY weak left side (right handed golfer) from head to toes. I believe if I can get my left side stronger/more stable then that would help significantly.

One thing I have learned about long drive is you CAN'T teach it. It has to be in you already lol. But the only tips I can give is make sure the swing is on plane so you can somewhat keep it in the grid, and also try to create as much lag as possible. Try and hold that club head off as long as you can to create the lag, but again everyone is different.
Maurice just set teh world record for swing speed at 165 mph, and his ball speed is something like 230 mph (not exactly sure on this number). Its ****ign stupid fast lol

I'm hitting the 32's / 68's and I love them. I don't know why everyone scared me about blades. I'm by no means a good golfer (25 hcp) and I ahve no problem hitting them. Even when I miss they are very forgiving.

Yeah the 32's and 68's are not true blades. The 33 is the true blade. I loved my 32's. Appearance and workability of a blade, but the feel of a full cavity back.

The good thing about blades is the feedback you get. You know when you hit it off the toe or thin and you can work on that at your next practice session. Cavity backs now are way too forgiving so you don't always know you are hitting it off the toe. I had a set when I first started out and let someone talk me into buying some DCI 962's which are good clubs but not as much feed back as the blades.
I play Tommy Armour 845's and my complaint is workability of the ball. With the other clubs I could put a fade or draw as needed with some predictability with these an attempted draw turns into a block right. It may have more to do with the ball Pro V1 than the club.
I rep back, leave a link

I used to work that ball like a two dollar hooker.
And I agree about the feedback with the clubs. To this day when I give lessons, I don't even need to see the guy hit the ball, I can tell where the ball was hit by listening to the sound. Makes me feel like a bawse.

12 and 4 - he will be better and a great kid...
i have never played with but he is good friends with my uncle... have played behind him and i hit the ball further but he doesn't miss greens... last sunday i played at 8am(8 days ago) he was already there and practicing... he has won two times on the European tour in last 6 months...
he is a nice guy... i have been chipping practice when he was there and he is chatty... felt sorry for him though as cars kept stopping and getting out to congratulating him for his latest win...

Hunter Mahan saved my ass in fantasy and I was able to hang on to fifth by a thread...and I had no A players starting. I have to remember to set my lineup from now on, I was close to catching the top group until last weekend.
