    Question Alternatives to Chest Dips?

I'm planning to start on a new workout routine as per one of the stickies posted up. However just wondering what are some alternatives to chest dips as I am unable to perform this particular exercise at home. I don't have a dip bar and although I do have a bench, it does not decline however.

    Any other suggestions?

Please list your routine so we can give you a replacement exercise that won't mess up the balance of your program.

Can you put anything under the far end of your bench to lift it up and make it 'declined'?

I'd be tempted to say a moderate to wide grip flat bench if you can't do dips. You can do dips anywhere you find a 90 degree surface. My kitchen countertop comes together at a 90...be creative.

Give bench Dips a try. Although they're considered primarily a triceps exercise, there will still be at least some amount of pec involvement dependent on your particular body mechanics:

    No brain, no gain.

"The fitness and nutrition world is a breeding ground for obsessive-compulsive behavior. The irony is that many of the things people worry about have no impact on results either way, and therefore aren't worth an ounce of concern."--Alan Aragon
