NO-Beta VS. no NO-BETA in the THRASHING TRICEPS THROWDOWN

NO-Beta VS. no NO-BETA in the THRASHING TRICEPS THROWDOWN

    BIO: About me

I am a married 45 year old male who has been out of shape for the majority of my adult life. I have had periods of trying to get into shape intermixed at various times but always found a reason or excuse to fall off the wagon. I began to get serious about my health and my physical condition in August 2008 when I had ballooned up to 262 pounds and found myself wearing a size 42? waist pants. I began with dieting and after loosing 40 pounds found that I did not have the muscle I thought I once did. I started hitting the gym in March 2009. I had no idea what I was doing and struggled with the light weights. I was committed to change my life and have continued working out five days a week with very few days missed since that time. My short term goal at this time is to finish the Double-T Transformation Challenge with a good showing; having lost significant body fat and gaining additional lean muscle mass.

    My Expectations:

I have completed several of the Double-T workouts but had not done the Thrashing Triceps routine before this week. I expect that the workout will be painful, intense and tough to complete in the time frame required. I have been taking NO-Beta since January 9, 2010 and know the effects I already experience in my regular workouts. I expect that combining NO-Beta with the intensity of the Thrashing Tricpes workout will provide me with great results in both increased strength, ability to get through the exercise routine in the time allotment of the supersets, focus, an incredible pump and an intensity that will match the sick intensity of this workout routine.

    About NO-Beta:

NO-Beta? is a potent no nonsense Nitric Oxide/Beta-Alanine (NO) performance enhancing formula created to blast the hell out of your muscles. Our research team set out to engineer the World's Most Powerful Nitric Oxide Product using NitricBeta? technology.
NitricBeta? technology is the force behind NO-Beta?. It's the three (3) anchor compounds driving the incredible Muscle Bursting Sensation experienced every time NO-Beta? is used. The ingredients Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (A-AKG), Beta-Alanine and Creatine Ethyl Ester (CEE) are powerful compounds individually, but together they work synergistically to provide the most amazing training experience!
NO-Beta? works its magic by enhancing the production of nitric oxide and the role AAKG plays as an advanced form of the amino acid, Arginine. The compound helps prolong muscle pumps, accelerate muscle growth, and deliver essential nutrients for recovery. AAKG and Arginine together act to stimulate production of nitric oxide in the body regulating blood flow, muscle contraction, nerve signaling and muscle growth.
Increases in nitric oxide production in blood vessels cause them to widen their diameter increasing blood flow and delivery of key muscle building components. This event alone creates an optimal environment in which Beta-Alanine and Creatine Ethyl Ester can work in perfect synergy fortifying ATP turnover and optimize Hydrogen + buffering system. It's the latter that is responsible for the amazing performance enhancing effect experienced.
In the simplest of terms NO-Beta? works to create an environment in which muscles perform at optimal levels while recovering extremely fast and limiting the impact of performance limiting Hydrogen +.
NO-Beta? is the perfect training partner ready to push you to the next level and beyond. NO-Beta? is never late and always up to the challenge. Make sure NO-Beta? is in your training bag and whatever you do don't leave for the gym without it!
    My Training/Challenge Plan:

In this challenge I will be endeavoring to evaluate the effectiveness and contribution that supplementing with NO-Beta pre-workout demonstrates on the workout. I will be describing my supplementation dosing and timing in relation to my workout along with all of the effects I receive from the dose of NO-Beta. Additionally, I will be evaluating my performance and achievements of the Thrashing Triceps routine including: weight volume lifted, reps, and peak contraction times held on each rep . I will also describe the effects of my workout post-workout day 1,2 and 3.

I will be performing the Thrashing Triceps workout on my regular arm day which is Thursday for four consecutive weeks. My workout day s will be March 3rd, March 11th, March 18th with my final logged workout being completed Thursday, March 25th.

I have also performed a baseline/control Thrashing Triceps workout on Saturday, February 27th to establish a baseline or control workout. Details of this workout and post-workout will follow below in a separate posting. This workout was performed 60 hours after my last dosing of NO-Beta to eliminate the effects that NO-Beta had on the workout.

I welcome all comments, suggestions and feedback in this process. I encourage you to subscribe to this log and follow the progress and appreciate your support and encouragement.

    Baseline control

    BASELINE/CONTROL WORKOUT

    Performed: Saturday, February 27, 2010
    Time: 3:35 PM ? 4:06 PM.
Location: Louisville Athletic Club, Westport Rd. Center.

This workout is performed without supplementation. I took my last NO-Beta dose on Thursday, March 25th at 4:30 AM pre-workout. This workout was completed 60 hours post dosing to ensure that the dose of NO-Beta was out of my system and did not impact the results of my workout today. This will provide me with a baseline workout so that with my next routine I can evaluate the effectiveness and differences dosing with the NO-Beta makes on m overall routine and recovery.

    The Workout:

SET ONE: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Triceps Cable Extensions Weight: 30 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2.5 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Cable V-Bar Pressdowns: (Weight 35 lbs.)
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2.5 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Cable Rope Pressdowns: (Weight 25 lbs.)
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2.5 seconds followed by 3 full range of motion reps.

REST: The determined rest period is 60 seconds, I had to force myself to begin my second giant set at the 60 second mark.

SET TWO: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Triceps Cable Extensions (Weight: 20 lbs.)
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2.5 seconds followed by 7 full range of motion reps.
    • Cable V-Bar Pressdowns: (Weight 25 lbs.)
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2.5 seconds followed by 6 full range of motion reps.
    • Cable Rope Pressdowns: (Weight 20 lbs.)
5 reps holding peak contraction for 2.5 seconds followed by 0 full range of motion reps.

REST: The routine calls for 60 second rest period, I was not able to get back to the extensions at the 60 second mark and took a full 120 seconds, two full minutes for recovery before starting my third giant set.)

SET TWO: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Triceps Cable Extensions (Weight: 20 lbs.)
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2.5 seconds followed by 5 full range of motion reps.
    • Cable V-Bar Pressdowns: (Weight 25 lbs.)
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2.5 seconds followed by 5 full range of motion reps.
    • Cable Rope Pressdowns: (Weight 20 lbs.)
4 reps holding peak contraction for 2.5 seconds followed by 0 full range of motion reps.

    Workout Complete!

WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS/COMMENTS: The Thrashing Triceps workout is one very tough and severe workout routine. You forget how much intensity adding the peak contraction sets really bring to the workout as a whole. I began my routine with 35% of my normal weight load which I thought was way to light initially, I really began thinking I would be increasing my load on my next giant set. WRONG!

It was very difficult getting through the full giant sets of each routine. I really struggled to hold my peak contractions beginning with the second set of my first giant set. It was not the pump I felt but rather extreme muscle fatigue and near failure. I could feel a sensation of my hands getting numb from lack of blood flow as I would squeeze out the full 2.5 seconds at peak contraction of the triceps muscle.

I was forced to drop my weight volume when starting my second set of giant sets. I did not want to but really did not feel I could budge the weight that I had originally set up. I also struggled to complete the full number of reps and failed on several of them.

The rest period after the second full giant set was terribly short, I was fatigued and ready to call it quits before I ever began the third full set. After a full two minutes I literally had to force myself to grab the straight bar of the cable rack to begin my lying extensions. It was extremely difficult to really get the full contraction at the peak and I don?t feel I was totally effective in achieving this. I could not finish the entire set, after my fourth PC rep of the Cable Rope Pressdowns I could not squeeze out the fifth.

    My Ratings:

    Energy: 5/10
    Pump: 3/10
    Vascularity: 4/10
    Pain: 10/10

24 hours post-workout: After 24 hours I still have considerable pain in the Tricep area along with pain when I attempt to straighten my arm. The tricep is tender to the touch.

48 hours post-workout:After 24 hours the pain seem to be more intense. It was difficult to complete my Barbell Ab rollouts this morning due to the pain experienced upon extending my arms out and holding myself prone without going to the floor. Still very tender to the touch as well.

Thursday I will complete this routine again with a dose of NO-Beta and will compare my results with the baseline experience from this workout.

    Day three post work-out

72 hours post-workout: The pain is subsided a little bit in my triceps but still very present. I did manage to get an awesome leg day in this morning and broke PR's on all three leg routines, just didn't require any arm work except for loading the plates LOL.

I am really interested in seeing what this routine looks like with the addition of the NO-Beta on Thursday. I also have Glutacene on the way and it is supposed to be delivered on Thursday, it would be great to have that on-board as well so hoping it arrives a day early. It did on my last order.

I believe the DOM's would be much less with the NO-Beta and Glutacene, I will test that hypothesis in the next four weeks of this contest and will be posting my observations and experiences in here daily.

WORKOUT #1 THRASHING TRICEPS WITH NO-BETA DOSE

    THE SETUP

    Performed: Thursday, March 4, 2010
    Time: 5:12 PM – 5:25 PM.
Location: Louisville Athletic Club, Westport Rd. Center.

NO-BETA DOSAGE: I took my NO-Beta dose of 6 tablets – the recommended dosage at 4:45 with 2 scoops of Lemon Lime CreaDyl. This was 25 minutes pre-workout. I generally try to get this in 25-30 minutes before I begin, as this seems to work best for me.

    NO-BETA EFFECTS:

Roughly 15 minutes after I take my dose of NO-Beta I begin to feel the effects of the Beta-Alanine. My focus and intensity begin to build and by the time I reach the gym I feel like I am ready to start lifting cars in the parking lot. The Beta-Alanine gives you a “tingling” effect that is noticeable. I will summarize the effect that the NO-Beta had on my workout at the end of the workout routine.

    THE ROUTINE:

Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar
    Sets/Reps: Load: Rest Period: Techniques:
3to4Setsof8PCReps+8to16FRMReps Extremely Light NONE go straight to next exercise Giant Sets move to next exercise with no rest (GS) Full Range of Motion (FRM)
    Peak Contraction (PC)

Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar
    Sets/Reps: Load: Rest Period: Techniques:
3Setsof8PCReps+8to12FRMReps Extremely Light NONE go straight to next exercise Giant Sets (move to next exercise with no rest) Full Range of Motion (FRM)
    Peak Contraction (PC)

    Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope
    Sets/Reps: Load: Rest Period: Techniques:
3Setsof8PCReps+8FRMReps Extremely Light Approximately 90 seconds Giant Sets (This is the last exercise of the rotation) Full Range of Motion (FRM)
    Peak Contraction (PC)

SET ONE: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 60 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 3 full range of motion reps.

    REST: Rest 90 Seconds

SET TWO: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 60 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 3 full range of motion reps.

    REST: Rest 90 Seconds

SET ONE: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 60 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 50 lbs.
5 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds. Failure at this point.

    Workout Complete!

WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS/COMMENTS: The best way that I can describe the difference between this workout with taking the NO-Beta and the one I did on Saturday for my control group is like describing the difference between a quiet peaceful country stream cascading through a meadow (Saturday’s routine) and Niagra Falls after a spring flood. (Today’s routine)

I set everything up and with the focus I get from NO-Beta and CreaDyl had my head ready for what the workout had to give me. 60 pounds on the lying overhead cable extensions seemed like a cakewalk but the peak contractions soon began to take their toll. By the time I hit the cable rope pushdowns my triceps were screaming for mercy. Now, the weight I selected today is roughly 40% of my normal weight load on the same sets without the giant set and peak contractions.

In addition to the intensity of this workout I had a pump going that was out of this world. I have worked my triceps every week with no real ability to get the type of burn and pump I had today. Again, I cannot compare my experience today with anything I have ever had in the past. My arms and shoulders looked like brail roadmaps with the vascularity I experienced.

    My Ratings:

    Energy: 10/10

    Pump: 10+/10

    Vascularity: 10/10

    Pain: 10/10

I have to give kudos and thanks to Paul for one of the most intense workout experiences of my life with the combination of this routine and the effects of the NO-Beta!!

I cannot wait to repeat this next week. I will report on my post workout experiences at 24, 48 and 72 hours post workout. Today I feel amazing with a little tenderness and soreness to the triceps. Still after 13 hours have a pump and major vascular expansion.

It is a very different experience doing the routine with the NO-Beta on board. It really intensified the experience

    24 HOUR POST-WORKOUT IMPRESSIONS

It has now been a full 24 hours since my workout yesterday with the NO-Beta. This morning I woke up with my triceps feeling sore but not unbearable. They have more of a heavy or aching feeling than a painful feeling. They are sore to the touch and if I do much typing type work I have to rest my arms and stretch them out.

The amazing thing I see today is I still have a mild pump going on in my triceps. This is something I am not used to. Also I still have some increased vasularity in my arms which is different as well.

The Thrashing Triceps workout is very intense and an awesome workout routine. I have never had a routine I thought hit the tris with the full impact I wanted. This routine seems to meet that expectation and blow it out of the water.

    48 HOURS POST WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS:

This had to be one of if not the absolute most intense workout routines I have ever performed. It was insane without the NO Beta dose pre-workout but after taking the 6 NO-Beta and then performing the routine I cannot adequately relate to you the experience I had with this. The pump, the total muscle fatigue and failure at the end.

I am very enjoyably surprised that despite the extreme pain experienced during the routine I really am not feeling the DOMS I thought I would. I woke today with a general feeling of soreness and stiffness but overall my recovery has been tremendous. I can only attribute this to the inclusion of Glutacene in my supplementation. When I used the trial of Glutacene I also experienced rapid recovery, increased energy and strength. In looking at the workout difference from Saturday to Thursday I added weight, increased reps and have had much faster recovery and less DOMS.

Here is what I feel today at 48 hours post Thrashing Triceps workout:

My Ratings: FOR OBSERVATIONS 48 HOURS POST WORKOUT!

    Pump: 2/10
I still have some pump left, amazing since this is now a full 48 hours post workout. My triceps have a definite peak to them and that is something I have never been able to achieve before regardless of the weight I listed or routines I followed for triceps.
    Vascularity: 7/10
Vascularity seems to be prevalent all the time with the use of NO-Beta on a regular basis. I supplement with NO-Beta 5 days per week pre-workout with 6 tablets each day. At this point I will never use another product since this works so well for me.
    Pain: 2/10
I have some pain in my triceps but in all honesty it is more of a dull ache than an intense or throbbing pain. Again, I attribute NO-Beta and Glutacene directly for this lack of pain and DOMS.
I am ready to repeat this routine again. I could easily do this today but will wait till my next arm day and repeat again on Thursday the 11th.

If you have not tried this routine and you are wanting something with maximum intensity, maximum pain and huge results I would say give this routine a shot. Find the entire workout along with complete instructions at this link:

    72 HOURS POST WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS:

Here is what I feel today at 72 hours post Thrashing Triceps workout:

My Ratings: at 72 hours post workout

    Pump: 0/10
The pump from my triceps appears to be back to normal size.
    Vascularity: 4/10
Vascularity seems to be prevalent all the time with the use of NO-Beta on a regular basis. I supplement with NO-Beta 5 days per week pre-workout with 6 tablets each day. At this point I will never use another product since this works so well for me.
    Pain: 0/10
[indent]I do not have any pain or discomfort in my triceps at all today.

I am ready to repeat this routine again. I could easily do this today but will wait till my next arm day and repeat again on Thursday the 11th.

This is the one routine I recommend to anyone wanting to really set their triceps on fire.

WORKOUT #2 THRASHING TRICEPS WITH NO-BETA DSOE

    THE SETUP

    Performed: Thursday, March 11, 2010
    Time: 7:15 PM – 7:28 PM.
Location: Louisville Athletic Club, Westport Rd. Center.

NO-BETA DOSAGE: I took my NO-Beta dose of 7 tablets – the recommended dosage is 6 and I increased this by 1 additional tablet at 6:50 with 2 scoops of Orange CreaDyl. This was 25 minutes pre-workout. I generally try to get this in 25-30 minutes before I begin, as this seems to work best for me.

    NO-BETA EFFECTS:

I had the normal results of my NO-Beta dose with the general “tingling” feeling of the Beta-Alanine that seems to effect my face and upper body. I also had the strong desire to get to the gym and to get in a good solid workout. The full effect of the extra tablet did not hit me until I was into my routine.

    THE ROUTINE:

Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar
    Sets/Reps: Load: Rest Period: Techniques:
3to4Setsof8PCReps+8to16FRMReps Extremely Light NONE go straight to next exercise Giant Sets move to next exercise with no rest (GS) Full Range of Motion (FRM)
    Peak Contraction (PC)

Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar
    Sets/Reps: Load: Rest Period: Techniques:
3Setsof8PCReps+8to12FRMReps Extremely Light NONE go straight to next exercise Giant Sets (move to next exercise with no rest) Full Range of Motion (FRM)
    Peak Contraction (PC)

    Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope
    Sets/Reps: Load: Rest Period: Techniques:
3Setsof8PCReps+8FRMReps Extremely Light Approximately 90 seconds Giant Sets (This is the last exercise of the rotation) Full Range of Motion (FRM)
    Peak Contraction (PC)

SET ONE: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines. I started with the same weights I did last week.
    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 60 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 12 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 12 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.

I was able to get in the full 8 range of motion reps on my Cable Rope Pushdowns which I could not last week. Also increased my ROM reps to 12 from 8 last week on the first two sets. I felt pretty good about this and confident.

    REST: Rest 90 Seconds

SET TWO: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 70 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 60 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 0 full range of motion reps.

I increased my weight on this giant set by 10 lbs on the Overhead Cable Extensions and the Cable Triceps Pushdowns. By the time I started the Cable Rope Pushdowns my triceps were on fire and burning like crazy. I was able to push out the 8 PC reps but that was it.

    REST: Rest 90 Seconds

SET ONE: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 70 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 60 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 40 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.

I set my weight on the last routine here down to 40lbs and was able to get through the entire workout!

    Workout Complete!

WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS/COMMENTS: I cannot begin to explain the intensity of this routine today. With the addition of the extra NO-Beta tablet and the increase in weight my triceps felt as if they were on fire.

As described in one of the other logs this workout seems to be very easy with the light weight until you get through the Tricep Pushdowns. When you hit the Cable Rope pushdowns and pull that rope apart you will swear your Triceps are going to explode.

By the time I finished my set today my Triceps were rock hard and had a peak to them. When I put my shirt on the sleeves were tight fitting with the extreme pump I had going.

    Totally insane sick routine!

    My Ratings:

    Energy: 10/10

    Pump: 10+/10

    Vascularity: 10/10

    Pain: 10/10

It almost seems unfair to give these ratings a 10 because it was much more intense than simply a 10.

so true that you really feel like you can make it ok until you hit the rope pulldowns... don't get me wrong the first 2 are intense but that darn rope pulldown at the end just takes it off the chart.

Crazy that we both took 7 NO-Beta...

Great work bro keep working hard you're definately keeping me motivated!

Yeah, I remember seeing a post by Jordan I think to drooks that said try taking 7 NO-Beta to see the increased pump and intensity, I have to say it did have an effect. I had such a pump going in my arms that I just simply could not get through my biceps routine after the Thrashing Triceps routine today.

    24 HOURS POST WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS:

My workout yesterday was much more intense than the one last week. The addition of the extra NO-BETA and the increase in weight has really taken its toll on my triceps this week.

Here is what I feel today at 24 hours post Thrashing Triceps workout:

    My Ratings:

    Pump: 5/10
My are still has significant pump in both the triceps and biceps. I followed the Thrashing Triceps routine yesterday with the Double-T Bulging Biceps routine the arms are still recovering.
    Vascularity: 7/10
Vascularity seems to be prevalent all the time with the use of NO-Beta on a regular basis. I supplement with NO-Beta 5 days per week pre-workout with 6 tablets each day. At this point I will never use another product since this works so well for me. This week is no different. I still have tremendous vascularity.
    Pain: 6/10
[indent]I have pretty considerable pain in both arms from yesterdays workout routine. Today was my day to work my shoulders and it was extremely difficult to get my routine in due to the DOMS in both my triceps and biceps. Raising my arms over my head is a task that I try to avoid today.

After my shoulder routine I did go in and get an upper body deep tissue massage today. That and the Glutacene should help speed my recovery. Now just trying to drink lots of water to flush my system.

    48 HOURS POST WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS:

Still have some soreness today but the Triceps are feeling pretty good today!

Here is what I feel today at 48 hours post Thrashing Triceps workout:

    My Ratings:

    Pump: 1/10
The pump seems to be down and my arms have returned to their normal size.
    Pain: 2/10
I have some mild pain in the Triceps but mainly only when I flex or rotate my arm putting pull on the triceps. Otherwise they feel pretty good.

    72 HOURS POST WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS:

The soreness is gone today, thanks to the wonders of Glutacene my recovery really seems to be rapid in every muscle group I work.

    My Ratings:

    Pump: 0/10
My arms are back to their starting size and the pump effect is not present.
    Vascularity: 7/10
Vascularity seems to be prevalent all the time with the use of NO-Beta on a regular basis. I supplement with NO-Beta 5 days per week pre-workout with 6 tablets each day. Pain: 0/10
This morning I am pretty much pain free with the exception of some soreness in the traps from my shoulder day on Friday. The triceps are pain free and ready to attack it again.

    Here we go again!!!

WORKOUT #3 THRASHING TRICEPS WITH NO-BETA DOSE

    Performed: Thursday, March 18, 2010
    Time: 5:26 AM – 7:41 AM.
Location: Louisville Athletic Club, Westport Rd. Center.

NO-BETA DOSAGE: I took my NO-Beta dose of 7 tablets – the recommended dosage is 6 and I increased this by 1 additional tablet at 5:00 AM with 2 scoops of Lemon Lime CreaDyl. This was 25 minutes pre-workout. I generally try to get this in 25-30 minutes before I begin, as this seems to work best for me.

    NO-BETA EFFECTS:

Today’s dose of NO-Beta with the additional tablet seemed to hit me almost as soon as I had swallowed it. I felt the Beta-Alanine almost raise goose bumps on my upper arms and neck. By the time I was at the gym and had my set up to complete the routine I was ready to tear it up.

    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 70 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 12 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 12 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 40 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 12 full range of motion reps.

I was able to get in the full 12 range of motion reps on my Cable Rope Pushdowns which I could not last week. I was feeling a good burn and pump going after my first giant set and felt really good!

    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 40 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.

This set really fried my triceps and the pump was insane. I almost did not feel like I could get the FRM reps in due to the size of the pump. I had mega veins showing in not only my arms but also in my front delts and chest.

    REST: Rest 90 Seconds

SET ONE: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 70 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 60 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 40 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.

It took a lot of focus and intensity to get this full giant set in today. My triceps were really burning and hurting good. I had to focus on each set of the cable rope pull aparts and count them out loud. Anyone around me probably thought I was a nut case with the light weight I was working.

    Workout Complete!

WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS/COMMENTS: I cannot begin to explain the intensity of this routine today. With the addition of the extra NO-Beta tablet and the increase in weight my triceps felt as if they were on fire.

I still have an amazing pump in both my triceps and was happy when I stopped at a store on my way home from work and the female clerk asked if I worked out “a lot”. She said I had huge arms LOL I have not heard that before. But it was nice to hear.

    My Ratings:

    Energy: 10/10

    Pump: 10+/10

    Vascularity: 10/10

    Pain: 10/10

It almost seems unfair to give these ratings a 10 because it was much more intense than simply a 10, on a scale of 100 it was a definite 110.

    24 HOURS POST WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS:

The workout routine yesterday was very intense and my arms had a definite pump and soreness. Today the soreness really has been very minimal. I attribute this to the Glutacene dose I have been taking this week. I increased my dosage each day this week from 2 scoops to 3 full scoops and the difference has been undeniable.

Here is what I feel today at 24 hours post Thrashing Triceps workout:

    My Ratings:

    Pump: 6/10
My are still has significant pump in both the triceps and biceps. I followed the Thrashing Triceps routine yesterday with the Double-T Bulging Biceps routine the arms are still recovering.
    Vascularity: 7/10
Vascularity seems to be prevalent all the time with the use of NO-Beta on a regular basis. I supplement with NO-Beta 5 days per week pre-workout with 6 tablets each day. At this point I will never use another product since this works so well for me. This week is no different. I still have tremendous vascularity.
    Pain: 2/10
My triceps are sore if I stretch my arms behind my back or if I rub the triceps but otherwise my arms feel pretty good. Could easily repeat this routine today again.

    48 Hour Review

    48 HOURS POST WORKOUT REVIEW

Sorry for the delayed review on the routine post workout. I am on vacation and left home on Friday evening after work and have been sailing on the Chesapeake bay since arriving Saturday morning. Had to purchase an app to allow me to use my iPhone as a wifi access point to connect my laptop to. This is my first time to be able to get back online

Pain 0/10 No pain felt Saturday morning, a little stiffness when stretching behind the back but not much to mention.

Vascularity 7/10 Still have good vascularity, I put this at a 7 because I could not see much vein before really picking up my workouts and using the NO-Beta. Now it is always present but intensified dramatically when working out.

Pump 1/10 The pump from the workout seems to be gone Saturday morning, but I can feel some definite change in the triceps themselves from three weeks of doing this routine. they have more definition and are much more noticeable.

Anchored out tonight and seeming to be picking up some good wave action and increased winds,. storms forecast for tomorrow so should be an adventure!

WORKOUT #4 THRASHING TRICEPS WITH NO-BETA DOSE

    Performed: Thursday, March 25, 2010
    Time: 9:44 PM – 9:58 AM.
Location: Louisville Athletic Club, Clarksville, IN

NO-BETA DOSAGE: I took my NO-Beta dose of 7 tablets – the recommended dosage is 6 and I increased this by 1 additional tablet at 9:20 AM. I skipped the CreaDyl dose this morning since I am trying to cut back my fluid retention for my final set of pictures for the Double-T Transformation Challenge which are due to be taken on Monday 3/29

    NO-BETA EFFECTS:

I have not been in the gym all week this week and have not been taking my daily dose of NO-Beta. Within 10 minutes of taking the full dose of 7 tablets I could feel the Beta-Alanine hit and could feel the intensity to want to not only hit the Thrashing Triceps routine but to really get a full workout in.

    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 80 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 12 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 12 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 12 full range of motion reps.

I was able to hit this full giant set head on this morning. I had no soreness from other workouts this week and I flew through the full routine with no set backs. I was able to jump my weight on the Lying Overhead Cable Extensions up to 80 lbs. I also was able to get in 8 Peak Contraction reps and 12 FRM reps on each area.

    REST: Rest 60 Seconds

SET TWO: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 80 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 12 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 60 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 11 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 9 full range of motion reps.

Ok, by the time I hit the Machine Triceps Pushdowns I was really feeling the burn and pump set in full force. The pump amazed me as I was having a hard time getting the FRM reps in due to the pump I had. I also had veins popped out of my shoulders and chest that I had not previously had as well. I had cut my rest time back from 90 seconds to 60 seconds and this really hit me hard.

    REST: Rest 60 Seconds

SET THREE: Completed as a giant set, no rest between routines.
    • Lying Overhead Cable Extensions w/t EZ Bar 80 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 9 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t EZ Bar 60 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 8 full range of motion reps.
    • Machine Triceps Pushdown w/t Rope 50 lbs.
8 reps holding peak contraction for 2 seconds followed by 6 full range of motion reps.

OUCH This last set with only 60 seconds rest had tears running down my face on the Cable Rope Pushdowns. Trying to get the rope spread was insane and my triceps were screaming like little girls. I managed to keep the 50 lbs on the last reps but am sincerely paying for it.

    This was one intense workout!!

    Workout Complete!

WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS/COMMENTS: This is the hardest I have hit my triceps through the entire last four weeks. I have loved every weeks routine and feel I have made some great progress in this area with targeting my triceps. Can’t wait to see how my arms feel at 24 hours, it is hard to type this as I sit here tonight.

    My Ratings:

    Energy: 10/10

    Pump: 10+/10

    Vascularity: 10/10

    Pain: 10/10

It almost seems unfair to give these ratings a 10 because it was much more intense than simply a 10.

    24 HOURS POST WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS:

The workout yesterday was intense and gave me a great pump with out of this world vascularity. I was sore most the day but with 3 scoops of Glutacene the DOMS really don’t hit you like you would expect with any other BCAA or Intra-workout formulation.

Here is what I feel today at 24 hours post Thrashing Triceps workout:

    My Ratings:

    Pump: 5/10
My are still has significant pump in both the triceps.
    Pain: 3/10
It seems that with the increasing my Glutacene to 3 full scoops I have really decreased the pain associated with heavy or intense workouts considerably.

    48 HOURS POST WORKOUT OBSERVATIONS:

This is my last log entry post workout. I have completed four successive weeks of the Thrashing Triceps workout and it has been a great experience all the way around. I feel I have made some great gains in my triceps over the past month and the addition of the NO-Beta has intensified this greatly.

If I could recommend a brutal demanding workout routine that you will love, then this is ONE you definitely want to give a try.

Here is what I feel today at 48 hours post Thrashing Triceps workout:

    My Ratings:

    Pump: 2/10
I still have some residual pump in both arms but it has diminished..
    Pain: 1/10
The pain associated with this routine is virtually gone. I have some tightness upon raising my arms above my head but otherwise I feel that I could easily tackle this routine again today..
I want to thank all those who have followed this log and contributed. I have had a blast doing this routine and can’t wait to continue this as a part of my routine in the future. If you have any questions or comments please leave them here and I will continue to check and respond. Thanks again!!
