    Whats the difference between abs and core?

    Id like to know what the differences are. and what exercises work the core and such

    when people say abs, they mean six pack. when people say core, i think they mean the ability of all five abdominal muscles to work in conjunction with the rest of the body to maintain a solid, stable center from which to exert power.

    Not sure if this is correct. But I've heard the core consists of lower back, abdominal, and obliques. Again correct me if I'm wrong.

    No need for correction. The core includes all of the muscles in your midsection: lower back, upper/lower abs, obliques.

    Abs = abdominal muscles (6 pack)

    Core = whole midsection of your body, for example abs, external oblique, internal oblique, transversus abdominis, lower back, etc..

    all compound exercises build core strength

    do lots of weighted planks and various forms of planks, remember to have good form while doing them or you won't achieve anything
    educate yourself before you wreck yourself.
