    Power Rack ID

    Hi,

This is my first post here. Pretty excited about buying my first set of equipment, and I'm looking at this power rack on CL. Can someone help me identify the rack in the attached image? Is $200 a decent price?

    Many thanks

Looks like a TDS. As long as it is sturdy, $200 a good price. We are looking for a smith machine right now, and $500 is the cheapest I have found.

"I don't have time to lift, I make time"

Once, at my local gym, I went into the locker room to take a leak. There was this little hairy, naked guy (probably my age) with it swinging down to his knee. He was really showing it off and smiled at me (WTF?!?) and winked. Me, being me, told him out loud, "if you want to impress me with that, have it hold up a barbell with 2 plates a side."

Apparently the brand is "Iron King". No model number. Did a web search, and have not found any info so far.

Is anyone familiar with this? Any help/suggestions are appreciated. I plan to look at this tonight.

Thanks a lot for finding this listing. I agree, bad price. The owner tells me it is sturdy, and in good shape... can't hurt to have a look at it.

I would appreciate any additional advice/suggestions on this. What I'm looking for is the a minimal setup to follow the Starting Strength program (bench, bar, weights, rack). I'm trying to keep my expenses under $300, and I have no equipment to start with.

Last week I saw an add for a tuff stuff rack, bench, bars, weights for $300. I've been trying to find a similar deal ever since...

Depending on your area, deals like the one you mentioned may not pop up alot.

If you could get him down to say 150, I would probably do it. Keep in mind that with shipping on that ebay rack you will be paying about 300 bucks total. With such a limited budget, I think 150 for a rack would be a great snag.

I dont know, maybe someone else can weigh in here. If I remember correctly DD was a fan of these ebay racks, wasnt he?

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I found that this rack is quite sturdy, so I ended up taking it for $160.

I've arranged to pick up 370lbs of plates, a 45lb barbell, and a bench for $130. Looks like I'm going to have a decent setup for less than $300.

160 is a good price, congrats.

With the plates and bar you got that's a nice set-up and good deal.
