Nasty Sore Throat

Woke up Sat morning with a nasty sore throat. Today it is even worse. Haven't had anything like this since when I was a kid (and before I had my adnoids taken out).

I have a bottle of 500 mg Amoxicillin kicking around.

It's either viral or bacterial (strep). If it's viral the Amoxicllin isn't going to do anything.

Not going to go to go to the Dr because they can't do anything.

Any opinions on taking the Amoxicillin or any home cures?

Physically weak. Not really coughing anything up but it is clear. Feels like I have a head cold.

gargling with salt water ftw! also, eat garlic (srs), crush gallons of orange juice, ive also had success with echinacea as well...

weird thing is vitC won't do much but cold orange juice works great..however, we're talking about a gallon a day..

I just went thru this same ****
and my gf just got it today. salt with some peroxide works great. VitC at like 3-4 grams daily and some VitD, like 4000iu's.

I took mucinex D and it knocked it out in like 4 days. I was on a nasty antibotic that didnt do ish for me, or atleast didnt feel like it. Here is the sickness.

Clear phlegm means no infection most of the time. It could be a few days or so before the infection shows so your syptoms might be a lead up. I'm no doctor but I've had so many sinus infections over the past few years that I've become pretty familiar with the whole routine. Sinus infections usually lead to issues with my throat.

I'd wait on the amox.

To add to all the good advice, take zinc and a vit D supplement. Also vit C and echinacea is good. Extra virgin olive oil is also good. It should make your throat feel like it's burning for a little if it's working.
