"Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape." I'd be willing to say that 95% of people on this forum accomplish nothing in years, don't be one of those people. It's sad, they seem to have the knowledge many don't but can't utilize it.

I looked at your midsection that looks like you've sucked in and based my guesstimate on all the flab I see there. Maybe it's just a bad picture. Just because you have lean forearms and legs doesn't mean you have a lower percentage of body fat than someone with fat legs and arms. Body fat storage has a lot to do with things as well. Although it does look like you have a small waist as well. Maybe you have loose skin? I don't want to harp on you for your age either =/

I understand if these pictures are too bad to judge. Terrible lighting and rushed. But thanks in advance for any shots at a guess.

Hey everyone,
I'm kinda at a loss for my BF%.. I have one of those weight watcher scales and it says I'm at around 19%. If I do the US Navy tape measure method (31.5" waist & 14" neck) it says I'm about 16%. Now obviously I'd need a fresh set of eyes because mine always look at my trouble spot (f'n love handles). I am (was?) skinny fat, and want to start a long clean bulk within a month or so (complete noob to weight lifting) once I hit the 10-ish %.
I can't post links yet (first post!) but you can use my progress pics in my profile.
My stats now:
HT: 5' 7" (169cm)
WT: 146.7 (66.5kg)
Waist: 31.5" (80cm)
Neck: 14" (36cm)
BF%: ???
Thanks in advance guys!

I would say 19ish as well.
Well as you mentioned, it looks like you're sucking it in BIG TIME. Since you say you're not you have some serious issues because you have such low lean body mass in your mid section that your stomach is concave and carrying lots of fat at the same time, that's probably the worst combination for body composition you can have. Anyhow, it's up to you if you clean bulk or cut but you definitely need to do both in some order. I'd put you around 18% body fat or so just because of how little muscle mass I see. Pretty hard for me to judge you."Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape." I just took some pics to show that I'm definitely not sucking it in (I'm not that vain :P)

And some of my legs to show BF/muscle (the first pic bulge is muscle, not fat)

I am pretty damn confused as to what I should do...If I bulk I'd just build up fat around my lower abs (which was the way I was before with a concave stomach.)
Few people have my physique issues it seems.
I have a thread up with my diet (very low calories) since I'm trying to finally get a six pack (doesn't seem like I'm very far away when I flex my abs). Is there any ab exercise I should be doing to totally destroy them? Squats make me sore for 2 days afterward, abs I'm only sore for the next morning...
I am a bit surprised by 18% though... what is there is quite hard (excluding the fat deposits in my lower stomach, I store all my fat there it seems =().
If anyone else could comment that'd be cool too!
Thanks!

Bulk like your life depended on it, and start doing ab workouts to try and build up mass. Make sure you are getting enough protein too. My suggestions, for what they're worth..
What does your diet look like? Make sure it's healthy, and I say this in the nicest way possible, but you are starting to almost look like Christian Bale from the movie The Machinist (where he starved himself eating only a apple and can of tuna a day for several months to fit the role..)

I definitely thought of the machinist when taking the "suck-in" pics, no offense taken!
myfitnesspal.com/reports/printable_diary/Jrmacleod?from=2010-12-30&to=2011-01-20
That's my diet...I know, very few calories but I'm still getting a load of protein! I'm planning on increasing to 1600-2000 but when people rail against carbs a lot (I try to eat carbs before/after I exercise with protein) and fat seems just as useless for building muscle It's hard for me to justify eating more.
My energy levels are still fine, which is why I can still exercise/move around, I just can't build up my abs for the life of me! I do crunches/reverse crunches/bicycles and my abs never seem sore after a night of rest!

Sorry, didn't look at all of the days.
You should be aiming for 125g~ on a consistent basis, but I believe it's better to be over your daily protein requirement then under.
You want around 65g of fat, as I believe that's the healthy daily requirement, your body doesn't function as well without that amount, if I remember correctly.
Again, you should get other opinions from people on this forum, but you def. should bulk imo.

So should I be aiming for ketosis? I'll grab some testers then. I can cut out vitatops and tortillas, but the 50 carbs or so from supplements are ok right? Without carbs I can't eat any fruit/most vegetables right? Or is it just no bread? Thanks so much, I've learned a lot!

I'll leave these questions to someone more knowledgeable.
Personally, I barely count calories, just ball park, and the only thing I make sure I get is enough protein, I don't really watch my carbs/fat intake as I know I'm usually eating healthy foods. I don't really restrict myself from vegetables/fruit.

My guesstimate still stands. Even after looking at your leg shots, there are no visible cuts and you have no vascularity so I know your legs aren't "lean"(in my opinion).
I wouldn't bother with keto unless I really enjoyed it. You need to spend a good deal of time clean bulking so I suggest you start consuming the things you like and make sure you're getting in your protein while training all muscle groups.
As long as ball parking brings the results there's nothing wrong with that."Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape."
