Lyle McDonald has a thread about this over at his forum, and it's working great over there. So maybe we could get something similar going over here.
The idea is: you don't know your bodyfat? Post pictures, and we'll try and estimate it for you. IME this is WAY better than trying to f*ck around yourself with calipers, or using a bioelectric impedance analysis scale, or something like this.
Make sure your pictures are taken in good enough lighting that we can see what's going on. The following pictures are suggested, in order from most important to least important:
Location: Saratoga Springs, New York, United States
Age: 31
Stats: 5'6", 200 lbs
Posts: 794
OK, I think I am still too fat for an estimation to be much good, but if it will help break the ice and keep the ball rolling, here's mine (all relaxed, since the "flexed" pictures hardly made a difference )
I know that if you can change your diet and
exercise program to give yourself a different body, you can apply
the same principles to anything else.-Arnold
around 20% is my guess too. You seem to store more fat around your "love handles" than most. If I look at your upper chest and arms I say yeah, high teens, if I look at your obliques I say maybe a bit over 20%. So I'm averaging it to say 20%.
Let us know what the bod pod says - I want to see how good I am with this
Tomek: are those relaxed or flexed? I'm guessing somewhere around 10%
kmwrestle: higher than 30-35% IMO
Mr13Percent: that honestly looks like 10% or slightly under for me. is that the 12% bodpod certified video?
weight: 5'5"
height: 134lbs
i am relaxed when not posing
I'd put you near 10% from your video, looks like you have quite a bit of lower back fat still.
"There's a lot of 5'11 200-225 lbs guys with 10-12% body fat on the Internet. In reality, their "10-12%" body fat is more like 15% body fat or more. Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting. Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think. Talk to me again when you get in contest shape."
I only have one picture currently, it's a front/side relaxed. I am guessing around 22%?
I'd say 25%.

ya i feel it's more like 12% still as i still have some fat around my lower stomach and chest too. thanks for the input guys, reps
I really don't think it's as high as 12%, but then again when I saw your "bodpod certified" 12% pics I didn't think those were 12% either. You must have a higher percentage of visceral fat than others, or just store less on your abs than others, since I've also seen folks at 10% who didn't have anywhere near the ab definition you have at 12%

ya idk that might be the case because besides the areas i stated before, i'm pretty lean. i have veins popping out of my calves and running up my legs. pretty visible viens on shoulders and some starting to come out near my obliques. lower chest fat has always been a problem, so im looking forward to seeing it go.
do you guys think it would be ok to continue bulking? or should i get rid of all the fat first?

I say bulk up. You're lean as f*ck. My personal preference would be to bulk until abs start getting blurry and then to cut back down, but I'm not an expert on bulking (or anything, really)
