It has been widely accepted till now in the sports supplement industry that Tribulus Terrestris does not boost testosterone levels. However this image has been blurred nowadays with the introduction of this study:
A major problem with Tribulus Terrestris studies has been that all the studies did not standarize the Tribulus used for anything. As Thermolife has uncovered in the pastFiziol Zh. 2009;55(5):89-96.
The influence of the Tribulus terrestris extract on the parameters of the functional preparadness and athletes' organism homeostase.
Milasius K, Dadeliene R, Skernevicius J.
Vilnius Pedagogical University, Lithuania.
The influence of the Tribulus terrestris extract on the parameters of the functional preparadness and athletes' organism homeostase was investigated. It was established the positive impact of dietary supplement "Tribulus" (Optimum Nutrition, U.S.A.) using per 1 capsule 3 times a day during 20 days on athletes' physical power in various energy producing zones: anaerobic alactic muscular power and anaerobic alactic glycolytic power statistically reliable increased. Tribulus terrestris extract, after 20 days of consuming it, did not have essential effect on erythrocytes, haemoglobin and thrombocytes indices. During the experimental period statistically importantly increased percentage of granulocytes and decreased percentage of leucocytes show negative impact of this food supplement on changes of leucocytes formula in athletes' blood. Creatinkinase concentration in athletes' blood statistically importantly has increased and creatinine amount has had a tendency to decline during 20 days period of consuming Tribulus terrestris extract. The declining tendency of urea, cholesterol and bilirubin concentrations has appeared. The concentration of blood testosterone increased statistically reliable during the first half (10 days) of the experiment; it did not grow during the next 10 days while consuming Tribulus still.

many bogus Tribulus supplements exist in the market. In fact MOST of them are bogus. It is therefore no wonder that Tribulus continued getting a bad rep in the supplement industry with Thermolife's Tribosten continued to gain in reputation and sales all these years with far more exotic test boosters in the market.
Once again Thermolife wants to uincover the TRUTH and therefore we want 5 subjects that:
-Are of 21 years old of age or older. We will try to pick applicants of all ages groups.
-Applicants must post their training experience, body stats, age and supplements that they are currently using. No supplements or drugs that should have an impact on testosterone levels must be used 2 months prior to the initial blood test and during the log. Zinc supplements are ok. Application requests must be posted on the Thermolife forums thread
http://thermolife.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1453
As a bonus applicants will also participate in theweekly product lottery
-Once picked an applicant must perform blood tests showing his Free,Total testosterone, Estrogen and DHT levels. He must post a scan of this results on a seperate thread both in this forum and the bb.com supplement logs forum. Blurring out his name is ok for privacy reasons but in this case we would ask for a scan of the original to be mailed to us.
-Once this is done the subject will recieve 2 Tribosten packs that he will have to use at 1-1-2 caps per day. On the 45th day of his log he will have to do again blood tests for the same parameters an in the beginning of his log.
-A detailed log is not needed though some progress updates would be nice. Upon completion a small review will be required.
-We promise that all completed testers will be compensated for their time and cost.
-US and Canadian applicants only.

Free test testing is unreliable for clinical purposes. A much better (albeit expensive) option is getting SHBG and then computing free and bioavailable test (with an assumed albumin value) from:

On a side note, good tribulus works very well for me, so has Tribosten in the past. Good luck to those who apply.

Also underage - 21 in 3 months ~
Blood panels are rather expensive, with a total and free testosterone test costing ~$79 from the sources I'm looking at. To complete 2 tests would cost over $150 which I would imagine would deter a large amount of applicants.
I'd be willing to bet that if the blood tests were compensated, many applicants would be very willing to do this, as I'm sure many of us wonder where our test levels lie. I know that I am curiousPersonal Journal

Honestly, I'd love the opportunity to know where my test levels lie, but don't know if it could work due to the timing of previous obligations.
I stated I would run an unsponsored Controlled Labs log soon (Reduction PM and optionally Blue Up also, to give trib a shot ironically), so this trial would mainly depend upon what time you would like the first set of blood tests performed
Thank you very much for the offer nonetheless BanePersonal Journal

i was always one to stray away from TL products because of price but i think that will change as apparently, TL is one of the few companies that actually put in what they state that they put in. that lab report results you posted on the amount of actual trib in those products is ridiculous. it doesn't really affect me as i've never taken a trib product but those results of actual product.. man. what is this industry coming to.
study on creatine, its stability, and more.

Cool promo Bane!
I find it interesting that it only raised Test levels for the first 10 days.
Does the raise of Test levels stay the same, or does it decline to base levels after the 10th day?
Also, do you how many test points it raised? There is no easy way out.

Unfortunately all my attempts to get the full text have met with failure No bibliographical base I or my peers have access to carries it and I never got a reply from their library
Logically the test levels would remain high after the 10 first days-there is a limit to how much test the testicles can produce after all.

Okkk I got the full text finally though I can't post the pdf(copyright violations).
Subjects got 3 caps of Optimum Tribulus per day, one in the morning and 2 at night.
Testosterone within 10 days rose from 25.4+/-6.1 to 28.6+/-7.7, at day 20 it went to 26.6+/-7.8. The decrease in test could be partially attributed to the concurrent increase in cortisol. Unfortunately the training and nutrition regimen isn't explained in detail.
