Seriously,
Mass-Holes and democawks want to tax Soda and Candy and junkfood to make fat people avoid eating them- thinking it will lower obesity and healthcare costs (Mass currently has the new health care law making it illegal not to have health care and costs have skyrocketed out of control tripple what other states have experienced)
This plan will not work- fatties will still sit home on SSI collect thier government checks and gorge themselves without excercise and tax the state health care system further.
WHy are democrats alway wrong?
ANd how come these stupid idiots can't see that target tax policies never work!!!!
Yes- I am raging.

While I won't be affected by it, it is still an immoral piece of legislation. The government has no business in dictating what people can or cannot due within reason. And taxing people for eating unhealthy does not fit into the the within reason.
All this is, is a grab for cash to try and make it look like they're fixing an unbalanced budget; instead of actually fixing the budget by reducing costs.
Hopefully the people in Massachusetts will understand this, and shoot this legislation down.

Funny as it sounds i find this tax more acceptable than the cigarette taxes. People arent addicted to junk food they can eat something else. Where as smokers have serious side affects from trying to quit.

You are a complete idiot.
Why should my INCOME TAX be spent on medical treatment for fatties that caused their own medical problems by eating shiit food.
Instead, let them subsidize their own health issues.
Here's an analogy: If you drive a car, should I be forced to pay your insurance? Hell no. But you are saying that I should have to pay Mr. Fatty's medical bills due to his self-indulgence?

u have the personal choice to not eat or drink these things and live as long as ur body can possibly live. at the same token, in this country, u are free to pursue happiness. For some, happiness comes from drinking mountain dew and eating mcdonalds and dieing younger.
they should be able to free, without penalty, to eat and drink whatever they want.
This is why, you can not be free with gov't involved with healthcare.
all this is, is a short "quick fix" to shorten up their budget problem. But imagine if we did have UHC. can u see how every thing we eat, drink, and do can be a health issue and there for banned or taxed? freedom is out the window. In fact, you don't have to look far to find examples of a gov't in a UHC country have banned foods and drinksWe are all a sum total of our experiences. As you grow and gain more experiences, those new experiences help shape and refine your perspective.
