I'm a guy, but...7/10. Paint, cabinets, appliances, and counter top space are all huge improvements! The floor kills the overall high quality feel though. Especially if that's laminate(which it looks to be)! You should have used cabinet matching real wood flooring throughout the kitchen/entry area and a tan heavy weight plush carpet elsewhere. Kitchen needs an island too. Big improvement though...

This has cost me about 20K so far. People tell me it looks like I have spent more.

countertops = 4K
backsplash = 600
cabinets = 3.5K
floors = 8K
random things that popped up = 2-3K

I actually ripped an island out of there. The space was just not quite big enough and the dishwasher would come within a half inch of it when opened. The fridge door was not much better. So I just took it out.

That is solid red oak. It still has to be stained and finsihed. I am going to go with your suggestion, it will be a dark color. I will post pics when it gets done here right after Christmas.
