I bought 190kg of bodypower olympic plates off ebay today. All I wanted was the 4x 45 lbers that were in the set to go with the set I already have. The rest will be sold on.

Nice pickup !
I don't know about selling weights by you, but I seem to have a much harder time selling them without the 45's. 45's go real easily. In order to get the .50 cents/lb I need to bundle smaller plates with other 300 lb. sets and sell them as lager sets."Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do, than by the ones you did" Mark Twain

I find I do much better selling by the pound than I do forcing a bundle. Sometimes I get beefy lifters show up who ONLY want 45s. Sometimes I get newbies people using dumbbells who ONLY want 5s and 10s, etc. Sometimes I get people who end up wanting a complete set, with a couple of extra 25s. Sometimes somebody just wants plates, sometimes somebody just wants a barbell. It all seems to work out in the end for me, but every time I've put up a listing to sell as a set instead of just list by the pound, I get nobody interested. It's very odd. I'm trying to keep enough extra on hand that it doesn't matter what I sell.

Thats exactly what its like over here too. Luckily in this case I may already have a buyer for the plates so I can leave fleabay out of the deal.
The plates I bought are the early ones which are the best in my opinion. They match the outside diametre of my york plates exactly and are nicely machined. Nothing special, but compared to the rough castings of most plates coming out of china, these are pretty good.My training log:

Just saw this on youtube, it's Dave Draper talking about and demoing his Top Squat. It seems like it would be pretty handy for people with shoulder problems. Towards the end you see Draper squat four plates. I can't believe this guy is 70 now... I hope i am still at it when I get to his age. I have a ton of respect for this man.

Damn, this week has sucked (and last week did too). I'm so happy it's almost over- too bad I have to work on Saturday
Anyway, looking forward to New Orleans. My plan is to do some drinking, followed by some sight seeing, a grave yard tour, some more drinking, maybe a search for voodoo/skull stuff, another drink or three, a meal, and hopefully some "quality time" with the mrs. We'll have a few days, probably not enough but better than nothing."If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace." -Thomas Paine

I've been there alot and boy am I jealous, my sister lived in NO for over 25 years, until Katrina floods destroyed her home, now she's outside of the city but keeps a small condo in the Quarter. For just a few days, staying in and around the French Quarter will probably keep you more than occupied. Go to Pat O'Brien's and have hurricane for me. Cheap beer and a fairly local crowd can be had at the Chart Room on Chartres Street.

Freak'n back is out on me....again.
Not as bad this time, but takes me a minute to stand up from a seated position and walking a bit like I have a stick up my butt.
Interval workout on Monday, it felt a bit tight later that day.
Tues, I did dead-lifts...felt fine (only went up to 245lbs)...but later that day, it started getting tight.
Yesterday...I am limping around and tried to just ride a spin bike. Could only do it for about 20 min before I just couldn't do it comfortably any more.
Used the rest of my time stretching and trying to move around.
Slept on the couch last night (firm cushions)....it's a bit better, but I'm still walking like I'm an 80 year old man.

I'm almost in that boat with you. I can feel something trying to happen in my lower back so I didn't go to the gym last night since it was supposed to be my lift night. My wife had ACL surgery last week and I think helping her has aggravated my back because I can't always have perfect form in most situations. Good luck with your back and hit it with some ice for 20 mins whenever you can.

I appreciate it, hope your wife has a speedy recovery as well. I'm willing to bet that some time next year I'm going to end up having knee surgery.
I'm going to try picking up some Animal Flex and see if that helps again...but if I were a betting man I'd put my money on the surgery.
I'm really just putting it off cause I don't want to go through the recovery period. Stupid, I know...
I hate that for you man. Mine went out two or three times the last half of 2011 and when it does, I just complain about it and don't do anything other than take Naproxen and rest it. I really need to suck it up and make the time to go to a chiropractor for relief.
It all just pisses me off. I never had any sports injuries (in my back and or knees, anyways) so it's not like it's just due to life long abuse....crap, just aggravates me."Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard"

My knee has been an off and on nagging injury for a quite a while. Everytime I get tired of dealing with it and get ready to call the doc it feels better so I get lazy about it again. My back is just a constant ache, sometimes it feels like I got hit by a truck. I've had about 5 people give me the name/number of their chiropractor and I haven't called any. So it's my fault that I'm just dealing with it. I should stop being a bum and get on the phone...

Man I want one of those, so far I've been chicken to just pop for it without trying it though. Maybe for my birthday. I actually had to lay off squats for a while because of pain in my shoulder, getting in proper position just hurt to much, its not even a bad injury or anything. just keeping up with the trigger points keeps the pain gone but since I spend so much time in a fixed position at work I have keep up with it or the pain comes back.

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Sanded for flipping 5 hours today....and I've still got probably 30% or so left to sand. Good news is tomorrow I can sand right up until bedtime....so should be able to get it all sanded by tomorrow evening (it being the power rack I'm refurbing). Once sanded a thorough wipe down with mineral spirits then I'm going to shake can some rust-o-leum primer after that drys I'll be painting it John Deere Yellow. Should hopefully have some pictures tomorrow of it sanded and then hopefully of it primed.
