looks interesting, have you tried it yet or just looking for some opinions? I usually shy away from anything other than creatine mono or protein shakes, that's just me though.
I bought it. Pre Surge unleashed in powder form. First dose this morning before my workout, I really liked it. I'm a preWO / NO supp junkie though.

These days I workout just after getting off work because it's the most convenient time for me to do so, but unfortunately that also tends to be when my body is dragging the most. A pre-workout NO sup and 10 minutes of cardio usually leaves me bursting with energy in ways that a cup of coffee just doesn't match.

I’ve used several with varying results. It seems like NO products have a wide range of impacts from person to person. Check out any group of NO product reviews and you’ll see someone saying, “… gives me amazing energy, a crazy pump, and I feel great…” followed by someone else saying, “… this didn’t do anything but make me nervous and give me the shi%s.”

I've been using Controlled Labs "White Flood" lately. It gets the job done but I find that I have to under-dose (1/2 to 2/3 a scoop) to avoid getting the typical NO side effects. BSN’s NO-Xplode gave me pretty much the same experience. The best NO sup I’ve tried was Cellucor’s NO-Extreme. It left me feeling great pre, during and post workout without any of the side-effects I sometimes get from the other NO products I mentioned. Unfortunately it’s also totally not worth buying at its current price point.

You're right. We only get about 6" of rain/yr. We normally get most of our rain in July and August when the monsoon rains show up. Crazy dust storms too. The rest of the year it is just sunny, which is why I moved here 18 years ago.

Isn't it bizarre how individual body chemistry differs? White Flood will have me bouncing off the walls and planning nefarious clandestine undertakings if I ingest just a wee bit too much. I’ve never been particularly caffeine sensitive so it must be one of the other ingredients.

I think the caffiene has something to do with it for me. I can drink a grande cafe mocha from Starbucks and go straight to bed.

That's funny, buff. I know for sure I couldn't do that, if I have caffeine in the evening I usually can't get to bed when I want.

I have only tried jack3d and really like it. If I'm dragging, it wakes me up an gets me going. What I like best, is it slowly goes in and gets out of my system-I never feel any sudden jolts or changes. I have noticed that about 20-30 minutes after taking it, I feel prickly and by about the 40 minute post-drink mark, I feel like I need to do something physical. What was really nice is the first two times I used it, I added significant weight and/or reps and that has stuck w/me, even when I don't use the product. Who knows, it may be placebo, but it worked for me.
If God had wanted us to be weak, He wouldn't have given us iron.

Yeah, I have had those too. But you know, recently I posted about having an energy drink and feeling pretty good. I think it was NOS. Not exactly a pre-workout one, and the sugar would probably cause a crash during the workout, which would suck.

I would really like to find a preworkout supp that worked for me, but I have pretty much given up at this point because of my results with White Flood and Black Powder. Im not about to keep spending money to get the same results.

I would really like to find a preworkout supp that worked for me, but I have pretty much given up at this point because of my results with White Flood and Black Powder. Im not about to keep spending money to get the same results.
I have found this to be the best pre-workout supp. Those NO ones are scary.

Well crew, I wasnt able to go to The Sorin's birthday bash yesterday because of my own birthday plans. However, my buddy went and talked about some of the competitions and fun.

He also didnt return empty handed and brought me this shirt.

okay guys I ordered some jack3d and should be getting it tomorrow so I will let y'all know what it does for me. Appreciate all the input...

got a quick session in last night

    Standing OHPs: bar x 10, 95x6, 145x5x3, 135x5x2

8 minutes of single arm KB snatches (35lbs), got about 4 sets in on each side with 60 second breaks in between. Finally got the punch thru thing down and these are feeling smoother than ever. I'm def ready to move up in weight, probably gonna order a couple more here in a week or so.

LoL at Buff for replying and bumping my "deal thread". This was a good thread to bump to get me to respond....I'm subscribed!

I'm around and lurk, but honestly have seen little to contribute to/with......have you seen some of the recent threads? More of the same......powerblocks v. selectechs.....are you kidding me? Four threads on shoes in about 2 weeks, and a bunch of other nonsense.

I also took a couple weeks off (basically) from lifting. Yesterday was my first day back at it and it felt pretty good. Wednesday we get back on the program we've been doing all year. Yesterday, I did try to bench 300 again (got it in December)....and failed miserably, so I have lost a little strength with the different program. I did get 250 x 3, so I don't feel too bad in the big picture though. I think I'd hit it in a small time frame if we start power lifting again.

Nice to hear from you Buff.

Heck, Animalfan can do some competing in some of the lifts if he wants.
I may try to run one of the gauntlets that they set up...as long as my conditioning is decent.

I've about had it with my bench. I think I've just really overworked right now, I can't do **** with it anymore. Of course, like always, I started that new deadlift routine when I should have taken a break. I don't know if I should just take a break on the schedule week that routine has me (Week 4, so next week will be the last before a break) or just take a break next week and adjust the routine. I'm thinking I'll suffer through one more ****ty night's benching and then take a week off.

I don't even know what I did tonight, something like this:

    Flat bench
    135x10
    225x3

    295x4
    295x3
    295x3
    Add 3-board
    295x3
    295x3
    305x3
    310x3
    315x2
    Remove 3-board
    315x1

    DB Flyes

    65x8
    65x8
    65x8

I also don't know if my bench is still just that ****ty that it's making me unstable or what. I do know that with the way I arch I can't clear the ****ing hooks anymore, unless I sit way down on the bench. Then unracking is extremely hard since the weight is behind my head. I should really find a workout partner, this is getting annoying.

Maybe I'll switch back to a 5x3 or 3x3 next week and keep the board presses in, I have no clue. I really wish flat bench had a dick and balls so I could cut them off and put them in a blender. ****ing lift pisses me off more than any other.

Whats up EQ Crew? Figured I'd post a workout and try and get some info from others using bands for their workouts.

I had my second bench workout using bands today, which felt a lot better than my first. I used the mini short bands from elite, which according to this chart: http://www.elitefts.com/images/PICTU...librations.jpg , should add from ~50 lbs at the bottom, to ~65 lbs at the top for me.

    Here was my workout:

    Bench Press

    135 x 10
    135 + Mini Band x 8 (~200 at top)
    225 x 8
    225 + Mini Band x 2 (~290 at top)
    225 + Mini Band x 2 (~290 at top)
    225 x 8

    Bent Over Row
    135 x 10
    135 x 10
    135 x 12

    Inc DB Press
    70 x 10
    70 x 10
    70 x 12

    Lat PD/ Low Row
    120 x 10 PD
    120 x 12 LR
    120 x 12 LR

    Inc Cable Fly
    3 x 10
    3 x 12
    3 x 10

Went for more volume in my accessory exercises, which was ok, but still had strength at the end of my sets unlike when I go heavy all the way through.

    ***

Now for a question, who's using bands with their workouts?

I saw the videos of animalfan using them for deads, will have to try that out soon. What about everyone else? I know they are often mentioned, but don't hear about the actual use as far as adding resistance goes. Seems more are using them for dynamic work and assistance rather than in a power-lifting sense.

For those that are using them, how do you like them and do you feel they are helping?

For those that aren't using them, what's your main reason for not using them? Cost? Not enough information out there? No need with your current program? Other?

that would be cool- hopefully i can get time off for it. it would be fun to lift there- and who knows, maybe my conditioning will be alright by that time next year? i've got a meet coming up july 31st, and i'm seriously considering cutting down to 175-180 (so i can lift in the 181s, and not feel like a chub without my shirt on).

i've been working on cleaning up my diet, and have been doing some conditioning work (not much, but more than i had been doing). i'm going to kick it up in august, someone needs to hold me to it.

i also need to get to keetman's place, he's got a few things for me. vacation days are hard to get right now, though, with all the scheduled overtime- high seniority people are using all of theirs to get weekends off.
