    6-8 oz of water per scoop of Whey Protein?

    I just had my first protein shake after my workout yesterday. It wasn't hard to take down it was the chocolate Whey Protein powder from Body Fitness at WalMart (will look into the ON brand after I use this tub). BUT I noticed something surprising.. use 6-8oz of water per 1 scoop. That means a 16oz water bottle would need 2 scoops that seems like entirely too much powder and not enough water from what I noticed yesterday.

    So what I did was I added two 16 oz bottles of water into my blender and added 2 scoops of Whey Protein but I didn't drink all of it (Only drunk a little more than half probably) because I didn't know the extra water I added took away from the actual powder.

    Can someone enlighten me? Is this amount of water per scoop normal and completely fine? Or is it also normal to add some more water and still get the same amount of protein in you? Stupid question I know but it's small things like this that irk me all day.

    It's water... it has no affect on the protein other than mix-ability and thickness. Use as much, or as little water as you want.

    I would assume the more diluted, the quicker it will get to where it's going. Shouldn't make a big difference anyways.

    Water= good.

    The only effect that water might have on the protein at all is positive you consumed more water. More water (to a reasonable degree) generally makes everything in the body work a little better.

    I mix the whey with as much water as I think I need. As little as 6 oz right before a work out and as much as 24 oz right after (per one scoop).
