cliffs-Latin American and Caribbean leaders have backed Argentina's claim over the Falklands, Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has said.
At a regional summit in Cancun, Mexico, a document has reportedly been drafted giving Argentina unanimous support.
It comes a day after a British oil rig began drilling for oil off the islands, a move Argentina formally objected to.
The UK's defence minister said the government would take whatever steps necessary to protect the Falklands.
Argentina and Britain went to war over the South Atlantic islands in 1982, after Buenos Aires invaded the archipelago.
The conflict ended with UK forces wresting back control of the islands, held by Britain since 1833.
-argentina's pisssed that british oil companies have started drilling in the falklands
-argentina had rejected permission
-uk says they are backing the oil companies
-argentina says uk has broken international law
-argentina already lost in a small war back in 1982 against britain over the falklands

No they won't,what we were told in history class in South America is that Argentina went to war at that time because the dictatorship was crumbling, they needed something to help them stay in power and they use those island as a form of nationalism,so the argentinians will be united, and my understanding is that Argentina didn't think that Britain will answer as they did but I might be wrong with this last point.
Argentina doesn't have the means to go to war against Britain (I don't know about Britain) and I'll dare to say that most of the back up that they will get from the rest of Latin America is going to be politcally instead of military

Definite posturing by argentina. They ain't got **** and they know it, but I guess you gotta understand that they don't wanna look bad by rolling over and taking it. Hopefully this all passes without conflict though - so unneccesary.

Argentina made it to 3 and a half weeks last time
Bet we can wipe them out in 2 weeks flat this time
WAR BRITAIN!!!
edit: I would love tomorrows news to say "European and North American leaders back Britain's claim to Argentina".
This has nothing to do with those other ****ing Latin American countries. They're not allies of ours and have no business in our affairs. ****ing cocksuckers. They would never have said this **** about the empire.Last edited by SezerTheGeezer; 02-23-2010 at 03:46 AM.
