    who gives a fuk? most people i've scene doing curls in the gym, regardless of age, have pretty bad form. swing the weight, pull their elbows forward ect..

    curls are not useless... they work biceps.

    if you have a tendency to use your back/legs etc and swing, its best to do them while seated.

    there are 5 curls: preacher, supinating, pinwheel, hammer, concentration

    currently doing 50's for 4x6 on seated supinating/hammer, and a lighter weight like 30 for concentration.

    I usually stay in the 35-40 range, altering reps and speed pretty often to make sure I'm still building strength and not relying too much on momentum. But the weight doesn't matter (meaning don't try to hit a certain number at all costs) as much as other factors.

    Focus on doing it correctly(form..) its not important what weight your using as long as its a good weight(meaning your failing in your desired rep range) for what you want to acheive ie..endurance/strength, etc...if i were you id rather be thinking about my heart and lungs ie cardio..and developing strong legs and core...dont worry about curls..

    Good post.

    I've got very good form when it comes to curling..and I love seeing the upper pec rip through the skin on the concentric phase.. I'm doing 52.5x5x5(love 24hr fitness sport dbs)

    Also, curling heavy weight has nothing to do with age, just like strength != age. It has to do with how long you've been training, and genetics(to a degree).

    i do 50lb for 3x8. However i dont have badform. by that i mean i dont use my back, dont point elbows, or anything like that(except for the last one on 3rd set), and i still manage.I considers 50's to be lightweight for some reason :/.

    these are the types of posts you always see on the teen section *shakes head in disappointment*

    i hate when i see other kids working out their arms, they always swing the bar and pull their elbows. They always stop half way too...

    thats why i preacher curl to make sure i have proper form

    personally i adjust the weight till i get the best pump
