I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then He is not omnipotent. Is He able, but not willing? Then He is malevolent. Is He both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is He neither able nor willing? Then why call Him God?

George Bush says he speaks to god every day, and christians love him for it. If George Bush said he spoke to god through his hair dryer, they would think he was mad. I fail to see how the addition of a hair dryer makes it any more absurd.

IMO religion is important as it can give those who need hope something to believe in. It's usually a good thing, most religions have good morals and help produce contributing members of society.
I'm not religious but it's hard to deny some of it's benefits (inb4 people bring up religious genocide)

let me guess... you think atheism merely means the *belief* that God does not exist... and perhaps you also believe that agnostic is a description for someone who is neither atheist or religious?
amirite?
thread sucks balls, but this made me lol

God doesnt just give you stuff, you work for it.
"I've never been afraid of another man,
Cause I can see through
My heartbeat, his heartbeat,
My only fear is that he wont kill me
Cause if he don't, I grab my heat
More hesitate I'm stoppin' this heartbeat" -Jason Derulo

You start with Atheism and work backwards from there to reach religion.
