If you supplement BCAAS in your diet should you take it on an empty stomach? I read since they dominate for absorption.

Personally (and I may be wayyy off the mark here) I take them on an empty stomach as I've heard that they are most effective that way. I generally mix them in with whey protein though...
Also, cant link yet as low post count but there is a thread entitled "Do BCAAs need to b tken on an empty stomach? " if you do a search you should find it.
Quite a bit of specific information on there!

You may be right snorkelman, but why chance it. I mean when I get through working out I have no problem immediately drinking Nectar fruit punch. I work out after work and have about a 30 minute commute home. This is a perfect time for me to go ahead and get 35g of whey and then make me breakfast when I get home (work midnights).

If your stomach is totally empty, they will be absorbed faster. This goes for putting just about anything in your stomach. But why care so much about speed? Ingest your target amount of protein and you'll be fine. BTW, about 25% of the aminos in whey protein are BCAAs, plus you want the other aminos in whey. I'd save my money and not buy BCAAs separately if I were you.

Xtend is a pretty solid BCAA product. If you get the big tub it will last quite a long time. I bought mine at the start of January and I am only JUST half way through it. I take 4 scoops during a weight training day and 2-3 on cardio only days and none on my off days. I was sceptical at first about Xtend but since I been using it I can see it becoming a staple in my arsenal.
When I take mine I usually have had a meal about 1 hour before so my stomach isn't totally empty.

I take mine post workout and in first thing the morning, both with whey.
And you can taste BCAAs for sure, they have a very bitter taste and sort of a gritty mouth feel that is surely due to their hydrophobic nature.I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavor. -- Thoreau

I put 2.5g of bcaa's in 32oz gatorade bottles filled with water and you can't taste them after they dissolve. I drink it over a period of 1.5 to 3 hours, during lectures usually, and then on lifting days I put 2.5g in my pre and post workout shakes. Seems to make chocolate shakes taste bad for some reason though.
