Let me get your head screwed on from the beginning. Don't fall for the folklore that you get better results if you go out of your way and have "fast" protein OR fast carbs post workout. Lots of good bros believe that myth. You will find yourself getting much better results and saving money if you just focus on total calories eaten in a day and keeping your protein levels in the desired range. The total amounts of protein and carbs are far more significant than the sources of the protein and carbs. Try and minimize the amount of processing that your food undergoes and you will be miles ahead of others.

    Keep it simple.

That would make a lot of people puke. Just try and get a carb + protein of your choice pre and post workout. The types are not as important. Some people would puke with ANYTHING in their stomachs and they just skip eating, and often they experience no muscle loss. But when you start doing exercise fasted, THAT is when the post workout meal/shake really becomes more important and that is actually when it could be beneficial to get the "fast" protein/carbs. However, as long as you get in pre-workout nutrition, the speeds of digestion post workout have little importance.
